Last time I went to Mumbai was 4 years ago, so my information is not up to date, but I find that Mumbai is just too crowded and slowly going down the drain. I am neither a Maharashtrian or a Shiv Sena supporter, but we need to build new cities for villagers to migrate to because at the current rate, we might see all 1.2 billion Indians living in Mumbai in a few years. Mumbai is as cosmopolitan as it gets, but there is just no personal space, too many people and too little space IMHO.

Absolutely true. India needs new cities and existing cities should be upgraded, but it will only happen if we shrug of the old Gandhian Socialist mindset of seeing cities as a necessary evil and nothing more.
