Indian PM Modi was on China's visit where he wasn't able to get any strategic concerns addressed
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Indian Prime Minister Narendera Modi is on China’s visit these days where he has met several top officials of the country including the President and Prime Minister but despite signing various economic deals, he wasn’t able to get any of his strategic concerns addressed. Twitterati in Pakistan trended #ModiVisitFailed as they felt that the visit was a failure.
In what appeared to be a counter-balancing visit to the Asian Giant by the Indian PM after Chinese President Xi Jinping’s landmark visit to Pakistan in which he signed deals worth 46 billion US dollars, Narendera Modi raised objections over China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) but he was given a cold shoulder by the Chinese authorities, telling him that they have complete trust in Pakistan.
At the same time, the Indian map displayed Chinese state-owned media CCTV did not show Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh as parts of Indian territory. This did not only highlighted Chinese point of view over Arunachal Pradesh, on which China has a claim but also expressed support for Pakistan’s claim over Kashmir.
Twitterati, therefore, somewhat rightly believed that Indian PM’s visit to China was a failure and thus trended #ModiVisitFailed on the micro-blogging website.
Some believed that the motive behind Indian PM s China visit was to sabotage CPEC but his concerns were brushed aside by the Chinese authorities.
There were others who believed that it was an exercise of power by the Chinese that they showed Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh were not parts of India.
Some simply believed that the Chinese hated Indian PM and that s why their media played down Indian concerns in this fashion.
Indians were furious as well. This image might have been edited but some believed that their PM was disgraced by Wall Street Journal.
This parody account of Times Now s famous anchor, who always seems furious over one thing or the other, Arnab Goswami mocked Modi in this fashion.
