One thing really makes me angry and maybe this is not the right thread for it.
But all of Pakistan's narrative fails to penetrate the International attention span.
I saw some hope in Indus TV but they do not have selection of Anchors/host who are good English speakers.
Take for example Mehdi Hassan who hosts head to head on Al-Jazeera albeit he is of Indian descent.
Another example is of Imran Khan who hosts Inside Story he is also of Desi descent.
Guys like them would make wonderful presenters.
I realize there is the factor that the world today is very very Islamophobic. Muslim countries if not openly are covertly discriminated against. Good things Muslims do are never shown. Western media just has hypocrisy in general towards the muslims.
Whereas, TRT and Al Jazeera have built a credible following. PTV cameramen are still oogling beautiful women. And it does not even a lot to reach an audience. Young youtubers are doing it sitting in their mom's basement, to say the least. All that is required is some ingenuity.
Whereas networks like CNBC, TRT, AlJazeera, Vice, DW are able to make very informative documentaries that have interestng topics, good hosts, good infographics, good camera quality, good animation and are just in general very well done. Pakistani TV is stuck in saas bahoo fights of politicians who probably enjoy gatherings of sharab and kabab together.
I'm not asking Pakistani TV to go abroad for a documentary if budget does not permit. But they don't even make good domestic documentaries.
A lot of it actually goes back to the concept of lingua franca I had discussed on PDF a number of years ago.
I know but I am annoyed how we keep saying that we will defeat hybrid war and we are victims of terror(which we really are!) but it does not seem to permeate the International news cycle. Apart from the anti muslim/anti Pakistan propoganda average gora is not aware of how we have fought ouw own war on terror tooth and nail.
