Most movies make 50 to 70% of revenue from theatres ...that too in the first week. This revenue model is same across all movies and across all jounre. This is because in the first week approx. Every ticket sold ...only 20 to 30 percentage goes to theatre owners ...rest goes to the distributors....who takes his own cut about 3 to 10 percent and gives the rest it to the
producer. In the second week or so the cinema theaters owners and distributers now will take approx 40 to 70 % cut.
So you see every movie in the initial phase tries to open in the maximum number of screens....less screens ...less revenue. As the cinema owners were facing losses they could have reduced screen space further which will cause tremendous loss to domestic film revenue in Pakistan.
Regarding the English part.....the average Hindi news channel viewership in India is 100 times that of the most watched English news channel. For movies category it's almost similar. This is the huge difference even with all the southern belt not speaking hindi. The trend is similar for Hollywood vs bollywood movies in india.
In bollywood, all deals are made inclusive of promotion. I guess the maker of film expect him to share the song on his social network.
Moreover, you must not betray an individual who has invested a fortune in a film and his success depends on your contribution. That person has done no harm to you or your nation.
I have no issue he reject any future Indian assignment.
The industry is not toxic. They are just fed up. They will happily sign up people from North Korea if the saw a business opportunity. They can expect all they want, if its not contractually required then there it wont be done.
You cant expect goodwill gestures for an industry that toxic.

You can believe whatever you like, and feel better. Doesn't make a difference. We're not the ones who were spooked or felt threatened by Fawad Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Mahira Khan or Atif Aslam.
With death threats and groups targeting cinemas, distributors and producers
Generally, its contractually done. Rest its the common norm.
Would you have done the same to the person who gave you work, invested in you and then seeking the return?
