ISLAMABAD: Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif will visit Rangers Headquarters Karachi on Sunday to receive a briefing on the law and order situation in the city, well-placed sources told DawnNews.
The army chief's visit comes days after the high-profile kidnapping of the Sindh High Court chief justice's son Awais Shah and the assassination of famed qawwal Amjad Sabri.
Gen Raheel will later visit Corps Headquarters and attend a briefing on the security situation alongside Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and other high-ranking officials.
The visit comes a day after Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali expressed concern over the recent kidnapping of the Awais Shah, saying that the incident caused a sense of insecurity among judges and their families.
