Shahid Afridi makes comeback for Sri Lanka series

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board’s chief selector Muhammad Illyas announced the national team for the One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka on Wednesday, while addressing a press conference in Lahore. Former captain Shahid Afridi has been included in the team.
Afridi had retired in protest after he was stripped of captaincy following the tour of the West Indies earlier this year. However, hetook back his retirement last month, and said earlier on Wednesday that he was hopeful of rejoining the team.
The team includes:
Misbahul Haq
Muhammad Hafeez
Imran Farhat
Shahid Afridi
Younis Khan
Umar Akmal
Shoaib Malik
Sarfaraz Ahmed
Saeed Ajmal
Abdul Rehman
Umar Gul
Aizaz Cheema
Junaid Khan
Sohail Tanveer
Abdul Razzaq
Asad Shafiq
Misbahul Haq will serve as the captain.
Wahab Riaz has been dropped from the team.
Pakistan will play the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka from November 11 in Dubai. The one-off Twenty20 will be played on November 25.
If Pakistan win the series 2-0, they will move up one spot to replace Sri Lanka at fifth in the Test rankings.

Wahab Riaz may have been dropped on suspicion of being involved in the spot fixing trial? But regarding performances for the NT, definitely should have been there, looking forward to Afridi and Razzaq, will be in Dubai around that time, hoping to go to one of the ODI.

Happy to hear that both Afridi & Razzaq are back in the squad.

They are the backbone of our late middle order and are very explosive batsmen on their day.

Good to see a well settled team after long time. If Asad Ali & Asad Shafiq can provide stability in the middle order alongside Younis & Misbah... We have a good team to play with

Its will be so nice to see the players fighting to get selection in final XI if all goes well

we have permanent opener (Hafeez) these days
Second opener is also not doing that bad
Younis, Misbah, Shafiq and Azhar Ali for tests and Umar Akmal for ODIs and T20s to fill the middle order
