Khushal Khan Khattak, the national peot of the Pushtu Language has clearly expressed in his peotry that WHOSEOEVER THINKS THAT THE AFGHANS AND THE PASHTUNS ARE DIFFERENT, LET THEM KNOW THAT THEY ARE ONE AND THE SAME, FOR A PASHTUN IS AN AFGHAN AND AN AGHAN IS A PASHTUN
One can easily conclude in light of the history of these tribesmen that they have only been united once in the 1700s by the great warior Ahmed Shah Durani. Pre and Post Durrani epochs have witnessed that these tribes men have never united.
While tajik tribes and other ethic backgrounds are settled in present day afghanistan, the same country is also home to many Pashtun tribes. In Pakistan, the FATA tribesmen are all Pashtu speaking.
My questions are:
1. Are the Afghans and Pashtuns synonymos or different?
2. Do the Pakistani Pashtuns acknowledge the Afghanistan based tribesmen
as their historic kin?
3. Do both get along or do they hold unfounded, ethnic grudges?
kindly comment, regards to all
