But as a student of economics, i would say Afghanistan should start from Basic Agriculture and Industry first.
Labour Intensive Activities should be promoted to reduce unemployment and make a strong presence in export market for atleast some Goods as a start.
High tech Capital Intensive industry eill follow gradually.
All regional Players should stop politics and contribute to make a stable Afghanistan including China Russia Iran Pakistan India and Gulf States.

Agriculture and light industry is important and we are working on it, we have made quite good results, Afghanistan is almost self supplied when it comes to many agricultural products.

But it is also neccesary to focus on R&D at this stage, becuase it will be our growth sector in the future.

Afghanistan used to be the fastest developing country in the region in the 70s, far more than iran and Pakistan in those days.

What? Afghanistan is rich in minerals and mining can be an excellent revenue earner for them.

Look at Australia. Mining superpower and a super rich country.

What shame do you see in mining?

What's sly even if they offer us contracts? We going to be buying their metals and minerals which is business. In fact this is much better than aid money, and can help lakhs of Afghans get jobs and earn a decent pay. We already are investing in their mining sector particularly iron and other metals. Jindals are already there.

If the Arabs can export oil which they technically extract and mine, why not Afghans who can bring untold wealth into their country through this?

Many geostrategic reports suggest that Afghanistan has a total worth of more than $2 trillion if it were to develop its mining sector.

You know what that means for them?

A strong prosperous country, which can use its mining wealth as an 'insurance policy' to educate their youth and become a manufacturing hub of central-south Asia region.

On top of that, if it cultivates stronger ties with Iran, it can have full ports access through Chahbahar which is seeing our investment.
