What repurcussion?? It will be done on Pakistan's side so it will be well within Pakistan's right to do so. There should only be two border crossing and they should be from FATA. Balochistan border with Afghanistan should be completely sealed, it would calm Balochistan down completely.

You are right, but Afghanistan has a victim card that works for it. We can face diplomatic and humanitarian backlash with the US looking for any excuses to put sanctions back into place.

It's better to wait until the US is out anyways. Then start limiting the crossing points as you mentioned and introduce strict visa requirements. Gradual steps have no repurcussions but sudden ones like mines do.

I was reading some book that in 1955 Afghans ransacked Pakistani embassy in Kabul when Pakistan dissolved NWFP province to form one unit of West Pakistan. After that ambassadors from both countries were called back.
