Alhamudlilah, so finally we have passed a historical election with peace, pride, security and big turnout!

We all were witness of two promises here, one by the government of Afghanistan and it’ security apparatus second by Taliban and their supporters.

Taliban: No matter what, we will not let happen this election!
Afghan Security Forces: No matter what, we will let this election happen!

At end of the day, ANSF and Afghans came out victorious! Afghans for the trust they had on their security forces came out of their homes all over Afghanistan with no fear and voted for their choice of candidate.

Afghans again showed the world that they are peace loving people, progressive, loves democracy and are victim of terrorism just like other nations around the world.

Some general information/facts regarding this election:

1- 3473 donkeys/horses are used for transportation of election materials to very remote areas.

2- 180,000 Afghan security forces were active for securing polling stations.

3- 100,000 bottle of ink (for finger) distributed for voter identification.

4- From total of 398 districts all over Afghanistan, in only 5 districts polling station were closed, in 393 districts polling stations were open.

5- 13.5 million people are eligible to vote.

6- 15.12 million voting papers are printed.

7- There were 28,000 polling centers.

7- There are 8 candidates for presidential election and 2595 candidates for provincial election.

Today’s trend was not ‘security’ but:

1- People voted from all over Afghanistan in huge numbers.

2- Waiting hours in a big line queue to vote.

3- Shortage of voting papers (because all papers distributed were used within couple of hours).

4- Considering a big turnout Afghanistan’s Independent Election Commissions extended the time of voting by an hour but still promised to keep open the polling stations for those people who are waiting for their turn to come.

5- Big participation of women in this election which never happened before.

6- Excellent security and order all over the country.

7- Many complained that queues were too big that their turn never came to vote.

The numbers of open polling stations were higher than 2009 elections, we had less security threats this elections compared to 2009s, a considerable increased number of people participated and voted this election compared to 2009s, more people participated in electoral campaign than 2009s. All this shows we are now more stable, united and in peace compared to 2009.

Many people celebrated this day from wishing each other ‘happy election day’ to dancing and playing drums.

I am putting some very promising photos from today’s election.
