Quite a stupid step from Afghans.

First of all, Pakistan is not refusing transit route to Afghanistan in general, it is just not permitting the route between India and Afghanistan for very obvious national security reasons. Afghans are welcome to use Karachi port route for that.

Afghanistans demands are really idiotic. It is as if Yemen would demand Saudia to let her use Saudi roads for trade with Iran.

Anyway, good luck with closing the route. You are alienating few Afghan syhmpathizers left in Pakistani public and giving hawks even more fodder to take harder stance against Afghan refugees living in Pakistan.

This action will create another effect. Any energy deal or transit deal that pakistan was considering, would now think twice before becoming a part of it. TAPI comes to mind. Would we seriously feel safe if that gas went through Afghanistan. Putting aside the fact that Taliban are on the offensive and are bombing Afghanistan left and right, the afghan govt is extremely hostile and frankly I would trust an energy route through India over Afghanistan.

We must understand and comprehend that Afghanistan has always hated us and the only period it didn't hate us was when the Taliban were in power. They have went through various govt which included northern leaders to communist leaders to capitalist leaders to pashtun nationalists and in all those tenures one thing has remained the same that Afghanistan has been hostile and hates us.

In the era of 1950-60 under daud khan Afghanistan invaded bajuar as well as other regions of fata and tried to invoke pashtunistan, laying claim to everything west of the indus as well as held training camps for baluch terrorists which lead to the 1977 operation due to the activity of those terrorists.

Over 60 years have passed since the afghan aggressions and they are the same to this day. The only reason Pakistan has not faced a full scale war with Afghanistan is not bcz they are our brothers, but it's due to the fact they have been in a constant state of war for the last 40 years. Mark my words they will try adventures they day they believe they can. We need to build the defense of our western border.

They believe that pashtuns on the east of Durand are against pakistan and when they find out they are not, they call them names and traitors and try to shame them for their loyalty to their country.

Anyhow I got lost there.


Long story short, we have to start seeing Afghanistan as an irrational hostile neighbour and we need to have counter balances which we have for India. That means defences along the western border as well as routes that bypass Afghanistan. If Afghanistan wants great relations we will have It however if they support terrorism and separatism within Pakistan then we will not bend over to their whims.

This is the moment to build other passes and other paths and make them viable for all traders. We also need a path through iran to facilitate Baluchistan to central asia

1. Somebody should slap GANJA really hard not for doing his job. He shold acted tit for tat.

2. Afghanistans clousure of transit route dont affect Pakistan at all, because Pakistani traders dont use transit route through war torn Afghanistan and anti-pakistani hostile Afghanistan.
Instead transit route though Iran and China to Central Asia is more souitable as population in both Iran & China like Pakistan & wants to increase trade with Pakistan.

3.Pakistan should kick out the last afghans from Pakistan and ban their entry or transit through Pakistan. Pakistan should kick out Achakzai, Aswand Wali Khan, Sherpao and Mulana Fazal Urehman with afghan refugee back to Afghanistan.

4. Pakistan should as fast as possible complete all border control stations between Pak-Afghanistan so no afghan enter Pakistan.

If India provide transit route to Pakistan for BD or Nepal, then Pakistan should provide transit route to Afghanistan for India.
Afghanistan should try to demand from India, to provide Pakistan the transit route to BD, Nepal, Manmyar.
