Afghan Women Become Pilots

not sure about india, but pakistan is not completely secure, it is something between religious and secular, but in that day afghanistan gov was on secular basis.

Your government may be secular, but not the majority of people, Majority of afghani people were tribal villagers, government writ hardly extended in those village, people were still living according to their tribal customs.

.
afghans chose to fight the soviets because they saw the soviets as kaffir (non-muslim) invaders. whether it was a mistake or not, it was still the choice of the afghans themselves to fight soviets.

.
Yes Afghanistan can be secular. It doesnt mean Afghani people will be secular... Only establishments can be secular, human cant be secular. If a person is heathen, heathenism is his/her religion ... As you see single a person cant be secular. only establishments can be...

My country is a secular state but %90 of people are Muslims. Every countries have different citizen types and religions for its own citizens. In this case, you cant tolerate to only one religion which is higly rated. Every single citizen is your own citizen you must care them all regardless of religion(and race).

That's why my country is a sample for others.

lets differentiate between people's custgoms and religion. off course people did follow their customs and traditions which in many cases clashed with the teachigns of islam, they still do the same thing. but gov was run on secular basis, people were not forced to do/not to do certain things or say/not to say cedrtain things. it was a secular gov with secular policies. people were and are religious, but they never asked or wanted a religious gov.

the las thing, absolute majority of people in afghanistan are having non tribal culture, only people of south and somewhat in east have tribal culture, rest of the country is pretty much non tribal, hope you havent consuded village life with tribalism.

Ahmed,
Stop trying to prove afghani people were very liberal and modernists and isi is responsible for bringing this taliban ideology, your history shows that central asia is a conservative society. Afghanistan is a male chauvinist society.

Al Beruni in the 11th century wrote about the very low status of women in Central Asian societies and women were traded often. When he came to punjab he was surprised to see women were equal to or higher in status over men. This tradition continues today, people is eastern pakistan are more liberal, and women have more respect.

Afghanistan was conservative back in 11th century and it still is conservative and we are not responsible for your woes.

in the cities yes, people were very liberal. in the villages people were following their traditions and gov didnt interfere with it, here we are talking about secularism in gov levels. plus, panjab have got its own problems even today, non of the ME,CARs, SEA are free from those stupid traditions.

As per ISI, i dont blame ISI only, americans as well as Saudis were active along with ISI to make people in Afghanistan extremist to counter the soviets, but bad luck to both americans and pakistan that this religious extremism bacme a monster to cause huge prblems for them. we can see the result of those polices today in pakistan.

TTP taliban is a foreign funded movement based only in north waziristan while afghan taliban is an indigenous movement which is controlling 70% of afghanistan, You can defeat a foreign funded movement but you cannot defeat an indigenous movement, We know ttp taliban is temporary movement and as soon as americans leave they will be evaporated but afghan taliban will be there and only negotiations with them can result in any peace in Afghanistan

The TTP is as much pakistani as the Afghani taliban are afghans. You can choose to say whatever you want based on the so called strategic interests of pakistan, but the reality wont change. and by the way, the taliban dont controll 70% of afghanistan.

I dont know why you brought up the taliban(afghani and pakistani), we were not talkinb about them here.

ahmed, when are u afghans going to man up, and take reposibility for ur own actions.

lets say ISI,americans and saudis did have intentions to make certian ppl extemist to counter off the soviets. but was it not the fault of afghans for falling for this trap? did afghans lack simple common sense that they could figure this out? did the afghans not choose their own decisions and actions? were the actions and decisions of afghans tooken by pakistan, USA, and saudi?

u can keep blaming us but its not going to improve your own situation.

Taliban enjoys no support in pakistan plus we have a history of defeating religious fanatics from afghan mountains, similar kind of insurgency arose during sikh and british rule and were annihilated and no one today knows anything about them

what do you think the afghans would have done being squeezed by 2 world's super powers that included the neighbouring countries as well? Afghans a people who were not very educated in that time, poor and not a good economy? the super powers and their smaller allies spent hundreds of bilions of dollars plus all their mights to counter each other, we were only the battle ground for them, we would never stand a chance against their actions and determination. Are you going to forget pakistan and giving us the example of afghanistan? why are you constantly accuse the foreigners of interfering in pakistan? why are your people making these mistakes? we were the same.

yes, they do enjoy support in your country, thyey come from the tribal areas of paksitan. if the extremists and taliban didnt have support in pakistan, many innocent pakistanis wouldnt have died because of their attacks everyday, the number of dead civilians overtook the number of dead civilians in afhganistan in 2010./

again: afghans chose to their own actions. afghans are responsilbe for their own actions. pakistanis are not responsible for the actions and failiures of afghans.

am not going to forget. infact if u read my previous posts u would know i'm talking to u in the same tone as am talking to pakistanis in.

pakistanis are responsilbe for their own actions. we should take responsibility for ourselves and stop blaming others.this is the only way we can take pakistan foward.

fair enough, if you choose the same criticiszm for yourself as much as you do for us, then i should say that you are reasonable. This is the reason i always say that we did make the huge mistake for chosing to listen to the others and making our country a hell with the help of the others.
