Afghan revelations: Pakistan-US secret diplomacy created Doha roadmap

Any agreements, if reached, will be short-lived. The proxy war will continue in the region, but Pakistan will ensure that no further attacks against USA are possible, giving it some leverage.

Rightly said

End game will be between Afghans and Pakistanis.US and Pakistan can bring the Taliban to the table .

But it remains to be seen that Majority of afghans will agree .

There might be some elements in Afghanistan which support Taliban; But there will always be those who oppose them.

Any Support to afghan Taliban will have reprecussions in Pakistan homeland ,esp at the time when sectarianism and separatism is rising.

Wow Pakistan Wow!! You impress me big time.

If Indians want to read it, please do and see how insignificant you are in Afghanistan. All strings there are pulled by us. You go and have sweet dreams of your 'influence' and 'power' in the region.

my dear friend,

If avoiding the fallout means we are seen as insignificant and being significant means we clean the mess, we prefer being insignificant.

It will be a catch 22. Ensuring that will establish Pakistan as the controller of those groups and on the day of 1st untoward incident / attack on USA, USA's response towards those groups and Pakistan will be exactly the same..

Karan, what will be India's acceptance on Taliban? How comfortable will India be if Taliban comes to power. While the US negotiating with them, where will be our interests?

No comparison , you are insignificant whatever the situation. And you will realize this after the umbrella afforded to you by occupation will no longer be there.

You are significant in creating mischief for Pakistan. Thats what you had been doing for long time sitting in Afghanistan.

Dont forget Kashmir is still unresolved and we can give you a lot of pain there as the majority of Kashmiris are sympathetic to Pakistan.

Your interests in the dumpster of history.

Consider this. This war has been fought on a lie. Countries like yours staked their interests on the assumption that Taliban will be defeated. A mere recognition and the stalemate on the battle field is a victory for Taliban.

Yuo can enjoy your 'influence' as long as Karzai is there. Pakistan has cultivated good relations with Northern Alliance too so there too your influence has squeezed.

Better to come of the high horse and get your feet dipped in reality. This article is a great reality check.

There really are no permanent friends or enemies...

 I am happy being insignificant, if it means keeping my country and countrymen safe and happy. No problems there! Anyways, the Afghans always seem to come after the people who think they are significant. Best of luck with that.

And there we go again. Kashmir. best of luck. 60 years more of self destruction. enjoy the party

Precisely man. Be there till the Afghans want us there. If the Taliban wants to talk. Talk with them. If they need our help in rebuilding provide it. If they want us to leave, leave.

I find it difficult to believe, why its such an emotional matter, where someone would put their own country on self destruction! Seriously retarded.

Its not an emotional matter for Pakistani leaders.. Only for Pakistani internet warriors on this forum.. :)

He who has gold makes the rules.... but that may not be true for Taliban.....

India has no direct conflict with Taliban, its you guys who use them against us. And if we ever had an interest its only because of you.
No one in the world is denying your influence over Taliban. As for the reality check, we live in reality. Don't worry. Every country will survive. We will wait to see who gets what..

I hope this process is sabotage proof,as all three stakeholders are serious about talks and peacemaking. Only one who's ain't happy with a solution and wants to maintain the limbo is India.

India happens to think that with $2 billion it can achieve what the US and USSR failed to achieve with trillions of dollars and humanity's most disasterous war machine. This is a dangerous fallacy that we find India is living in.

So just keep a lookout for any efforts of sabotage as the opening of the Doha office, marks a period of insomania for the delusional Indian elite and policy makers.

No process is sabotage proof. there will always be vested interests within and outside of al the mainplayers who would want this process to be disrupted. It is upto the main stakeholders to ensure that these vested interests are neutralized and we give peace a genuine chance. We need it, the poor Afghans need it and the region needs it. However the powers that want strife and unrest in pakistan would not want to do that.
