More on Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Article here, excerpts below:

For 35 years, Hoji Karim had eked out a living in the mountainous region of Pakistani Kashmir. Having fled the war in his native Afghanistan, the elderly man thought that, across the border, in the valleys of the lower Himalayas, he had finally found somewhere safe.
But two months ago that all changed.

"The Pakistani police came to our house and told us to leave," he said. "They threw all our things onto the street."

...

Since the beginning of this year over 55,000 Afghan refugees have returned from Pakistan – more than twice as much as in the whole of the 2014.

...

The rate of spontaneous returns of undocumented Afghans increased from an average of 59 a day in 2014 to 651 in the 2015.
An IOM official said that many of the unregistered Afghan returnees reported that they had left Pakistan to escape harassment following the Peshawar attack.

...

Afghanistan's minister for refugees and repatriations, Sayed Hussain Alemi Balkhi, has appealed to his Pakistani counterparts to stop the forced evictions. He travelled to Pakistan and announced on March 14 that an agreement had been reached, with which Pakistan would stop deportations and instead register the undocumented Afghans in Pakistan.

...

Last week Nursada, a vegetable seller, was one of them – arriving from Peshawar after 30 years living there.

"Why did I leave? The Pakistani police came to my house and told me to go" he said, proving that the agreement has done little to change the situation.

"Before, I sold vegetables from my cart in the bazaar of Peshawar.

"But now no one is doing business with Afghans."

I feel sorry for the innocent Afghans in this matter, but perhaps they should have kept an eye on their more militant members and reported them to the police so the Pakistani people could trust them. All we have gotten out of allowing afghans is drugs, weapons and now an increase of militancy. Perhaps its time Afghans returned home.

Time to pack the bags and leave for India/US. No more Afghans in Pakistan. Time for HRW to pack their bags too.

It is unfortunate that the Afghans HAVE to be deported due to security concerns however it is equally unfortunate that he just remembers the Blue part and forgets the Red part i.e. spending 35 years as a refugee.

You have to endure humiliation when you are a refugee in Pardes. The watan of Afghans is Afghanistan and this little episode of humiliation in Pakistan after APS attack, should serve as reminder of value and worth of their own soil and watan. It will also motivate them, to serve and care for their own country and not wander as refugees in other countries. When i saw IDPs and their condition, i realized it is the worst thing that would ruin your izat, pride and self-respect, same thing happened to Afghan refugees in 80s.........May Allah keep us safe from displacement and life in tents.

They usually return after 2-3 months max

I'm against their eviction. As angry as we are at the APS attack, we are a nation of culture and old values. Punishing a whole people for the crimes of a few Takfeeri pigs (our citizens) is inhumane, unjust and unPakistani.

Good job guys , send them back ASAP..
They dont see that Pakistan is the only country which let them enjoy everything for damn 35 years and now when we want them to leave due to security reasons, they want to act like this..

I have seen Afghan people here in UK, who were able to come here only due to Pakistan giving them shelter and once they are settled here in UK they use all fool language for Pakistan...

Namak Haram loog

Half my village is made up of these refugees, some of whom are the finest people one could meet> Now they are selling their goods at dirt cheap prices and leaving. Is it right they leave, my heart says no , my head say yes.
