If it was, it would have been smooth sailing all the way for US now wouldn't it. There wouldn't be any haqqani issue between the US and Pak. Thing is that Pak govt has been self-reliant for quiet sometime now, we Pakistanis don't like to admit it cuz we like lashing out at the govt.

And its high time your govt start doing the same. Taking dictation from the US won't help your cause. Siding with the Indians just to teach us won't help your cause. There are still 2-3 million afghans living in Pakistan, not in India. Most have good businesses there and would love to share their affluence in their native land. You guys have totally forgotten them but they miss their land, work something out to bring them back.

I am talking of someone who can't see beyond "incredible India" even on a thread which is primarily about Afghanistan.
