1.Just because they can keep at it,doesnt mean they want to.US military forces are still stretched wide all over middle east,also lining up against russia and china.The war still costs them some billions of dollars.Though its a miniscule percentage of their whole budget,its still billions.

I find it bit contradictory with your previous post, you said US don't need whole army but few advisers are enough to continue this war and few advisors won't effect much to massively huge US forces despite they are deployed in all over the world. second you said it won't put any burden to US economy so why US want to pull their forces in middle of war, A war still indecisive. This will impact all the 17 years of effort they done against taliban.

2.Negotiated settlement.Taliban cant win,nor can they even occupy any major urban areas.ANA-USA dont have manpower to defeat taliban.Eventually there will be compromise solution with federal autonomy i think.

Taliban still can fight for long, They are known for their hit and run tactic. They usually don't intend to occupy, So the compromise will not come easy, Taliban are at their resurgence and will demand more, Is US really ready to compromise that big?

If the afghan peoples army is refusing to fight there fight. I’m not sure what other nations are supposed to do in Afghanistan conflict. Dozens or so Europeans troops running around are not the answer here. It now looks like south Vietnam type collapse.

It appears that without the US air support Afghan Taliban will rout the ANA. Also if Taliban forces get the MANPADS then this will make a big difference.

US will not compromise much,it will be taliban that will have to compromise more to get an agreement or forever continue like this.A superpower doesnt bend before a regional militia.(unless its a collapsing one)Taliban fighters are exhausted as well.As the US top general said openly - Taliban cant militarily win this war.Their only 'victory' is not being defeated.Unlike the ussr ,us economy is unaffected by afghan war ,its public opinion is also unaffected because americans are not dying .Taliban can maul provincial forces but cant fight the central better equipped and trained units backed by mass us airstrikes.
