They are extremely ill prepared for any combat role without US aerial and logistical report, their officers are ill-trained and disciplined who have earned their stripes due to tribal prominence etc.... the USSR trained Afghan army was far, far more capable than this pathetic excuse for a military.Kudos Zibago

They never had the control over country in First place but all the so-called first world powers bombed the land and then injected a puppet regime merely to keep presence, extract more drugs to international market to cover losses in this war yet creating a base camp for launching of proxies on behest of US & Allies against rivals in this region.

The moral of soldiers surrendering to Taliban or in past use to sell their weapons for money, is not something new that we may be shocked. An army that consists a world record unlimited Generals, promoted on the basis of personal likes or supporting Kabul limited regime no matter committing war crimes and being drug lords in Afghanistan so then, none may expect a fight from such force led by top most criminals.

Cut the supplies, block the western afghan border and choke NATO out.

Then get to work on Northern Alliance child molesting warlords and decapitate their entire infrastructure limb by limb.

Now they have supa powa trainers plus Americans

.
Some of ANA senior officers (even GOC level) and ANA soldiers are ex-mujahideen, also the ethnic and tribal relations of Taliban with serving elements within ANA are hard to break.

This is a very alarming situation for the Afghan Army, maybe that is the reason why is the US is barking mad at Pakistan, and wants Pakistan to do their dirty work, which is not going to happen, Why should Pakistan clean up the mess when you have India their best buddy.

.
I wish Afghanistan and it's army all the best, it's fledgling, infantile and needs all the support it can get.

I think many of their officers were trained by India!!! A couple of examples from BD officers trained by India:
  • Mujib raised a special force, trained by India, to support him alone. Only 14 Pak trained officers commanding a platoon of soldiers were able to kill him and his cohorts en masse within half an hour of ops while 3K of the Indian trained forces surrendered without firing a single shot!!!
  • There was a RAW planned mutiny in BD. Their India trained army chief stood idle for 3 days while his officers were being killed like stray dogs, and their wives and daughters were being raped!!! Moreover, their dead bodies were burnt aka Gujrat style!!!! And, it all happened within a couple of blocks away from GHQ!!!!
