Advanced version of indigenously developed Pinaka Mark-2 rocket successfully test fired from a defen

Yes yes am aware of that but just now found we produce in masses :D 5000 per year ... we must increase its reach with 30-40 km with more play load on mk3 if possible to be par with smerch . Time to export some serious weapon system :yahoo: Am loving it friends :smitten:
Bro but 500m is too low I guess with 12 missiles
The correct figure for Pinaka Mk1 is complete destruction of a target area of 3.9 sq km in 44 seconds, if six launchers are used in salvo mode.

I'm not sure about Mk2, but I'm guessing that the figure would be the same, unless a different explosive or heavier payload is used, the difference being that the area can be targetted from farther away.

This is some serious firepower for IA's artilery arm.

You get what you pay for:p:
BTW Its for 1 missile not 12 (if thats what you thought) and it is pretty decent.

Hoo hooo ... Hold on a minute . Happy Diwali folks .:partay::enjoy:

Man and we are producing 5000 per year. Then why the he'll we dint sell it afgans ? Our brothers need a our toys in masses. Atleast 25 systems per year will be good for them in long run . Our Govt should sell every lil weapons from here on .

We must move to that proposed system of 120 KM with 250 KG warhead with this honeywell chip. Our unguided rockets will become the precise missile with the application of this cheap.
when will they induct it ?

MK 2 with 65 KM range is redy and inducted may be.

120 KM rocket with Mach 4 speed climbing 40 KM and hitting target at Mach 1.8 speed were in plan since a long time ago. i do not know the current status.

Yeah about that...........,you see friend, this Honeywell TALIN 2000 (or Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator) is not a guidance chip for bombs or MBRL rounds,it's actually an inertial land navigation system based around a RLG device, just like the Sigma 90 series used by Indian Armed Forces on various of their platforms. These decvices are fitted to weapon platforms, not the munitions themselves,so there is no question of these systems, turning our unguided rockets/arty shells into precise missiles. It's true that these systems can provide you with a very precise firing solution, there by increasing your chances of hitting your target with more precision but that's about it.They can not guide the munitions theselves towards the objectives.
The reporter fucked up again.

But article states that it may guide the weapon to destination with great precision without GPS.

The advanced version Mark-II rocket with a range of more than 60-km not mk-I

He hasked what is the range compare to MK 1 ? Not the range of MK1? So my reply stand correct.

That's why I said that the author fucked things up,as is the norm with Indian defence journos. It's an inertial land navigation system, built around a ring laser gyroscope, which can provide the platforms with navigation data and firing solutions with or without GPS.It is system to mount on the platforms, not the for the ordnance. Here is the brochure:

Pinaka is name related to lord Shiva why don't fake seculars objecting like gita

Too difficult to differentiate
I am sorry, i am confused at your response please clarify.
The post is about pinaka , from where did the smerch came from , or you were confused with between the two ??
Love, the denials By Indian members, this isn't the same thing this has different color BLA BLA BLA. This is Russian weapon with Indian paint job.

Once a veteran sees both Pinaka and Smerch are painted with Yellow and red on tip and say are same we must acknowledge his expertise. So cut the crap and accept that fact that these are same systems (including paint Job).

I'm surprised and disappointed to see Indian posters are so naive and stupid. One word for you all STFU,

Any way congrats DRDO!!
