If you look at subcontinent specially up and bihar there are many khan surname people (there is said to be a small yousufzai population in bihar like dr abdul Qadeer so excluding them ) but rest neither have pushtoon descent nor persian. i mean you will find people with locals features, color, bengali features bihari features etc but with foreign surnames like khan , qureshi, hashmi, farooquis , zuberis, zaidis. etc etc. with due respect to everyones looks, i am not disparaging anyone. But this thing always confuses me.

By the way i am an islamabadi , and my information about rest of pakistan is very poor.

You are not getting it. yea political narrative in Afghanistan can hardly be described as Pakistan-friendly and this actually impacts the views of the Afghans to blame Pakistan for all ills in their society. My problem with Afghans is not because of nationalism or because of their ethnicity. My views about Afghans have changed drastically in the past few years after having interaction with them and knowing their thought process, arrogance and racism. It has less to do with politics between two countries. This sort of arrogance and bad mouthing I did not even heard from Indians even when boht countries are enemy at state level. . Afghans are free to hate us by staying in their own country but when they will bad mouth Pakistan after staying and living in Pakistan and after causing all sort of havoc in our social structure then surely they will be called as nimak haram, ungrateful, traitors etc

Afghanis are not critical of their leaders be it taliban, former kings or like now elected president. Even if they are then they will find ways to blame it all on Pakistan from average person to political elite. When it comes to Afghanistan and what ever is wrong with it now, all is blamed on Pakistan and not allah doings.

With Indians it's different because average Indian isn't effected by IoK issue and neither average Pakistani. While Afghanistan is literally destroyed country and they blame Pakistan for it. Pakistanis get surprised by this one sided view and call them namak haram.

I totally disagree with the general Pakistani view that Afghans ( i will here defend my ethnic brethren across Durand only) are namak-haram by nature. By that standards, Sher Shah (whose father was from present-day Pakhtunkhwa) and Khushal Khan Khattak (also from present-day KP) were also namak-harams. In fact all the Afghans (Pashtuns) have been called "namak-haram" in Mughal histories but the fact is their conscience and pride never allowed them to be obsequious and bootlickers of the people who had snatched power and glory from them. Afghans are of view that everything comes from Allah. Only be grateful to Allah. When you help someone, you are supposed to help them for the sake of Allah. Some people think that when they do a favor for you, they own you. Afghans don't accept being owned.


Her mother had Khan in her name because of her husband. In case you dont know, wives in Pakistan and elsewhere put the surname of their husbands after marriage. e.g Gori Khan (wife of Shahrukh Khan)

Problem with most afghans is that they lack introspection and are still living in era of durrani Empire and are not ready to accept the realities of TODAY . We were this and we were that and all this non sense and fake sense of superiority ..They call us dal khor when we actually eat meat but they lick asses of actual dal Khor vegetarians
