The first F-16 fighter aircraft fitted with an AN/APG-83 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar made its maiden flight on 16 October, Lockheed Martin announced on 21 October.
The aircraft is the first to be integrated with the Northrop Grumman AN/APG-83 radar, which company officials at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2015 said was "at the heart of Lockheed Martin's F-16V avionics upgrade" offering.
The F-16V was first unveiled at the 2012 Singapore Airshow and as well as incorporating the AN/APG-83, features a new Raytheon mission computer, Link 16 datalink, cockpit displays, electronic warfare system, and the GCAS ground collision avoidance system.
