Hey everyone. Can I get accurate statistics pretaining to casualties :guns: of airplanes, tanks and human life during the 65 and 71 wars between India and Pakistan. How many planes did Pakistan lose :sniper: in these wars. By the way I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question on.:pakistan::pakistan:

Forget the past ,

I think we have to ask about the Human Casualties of NATO/ US in Afghanistan and Iraq.

But the real statics we need ,

i agree with ahussains here, no point digging up the past. many facts are shrouded in controversy since both sides exaggerated and lied about losses.

but if you really want the figures here is data from neutral sources. i believ thats about as accurate as it gets.

1948 War: about 1500 dead on each side
India Pakistan War 1947-1949

1965 war: India 3000, Pakistan 3800
India Pakistan War 1965

1971 war: India 2500, Pakistan 9000
Indo-Pakistan Wars - MSN Encarta

the 1971 casuality figures are subject to doubt. wikipedia states india lost over 3000 and pakistani casuality figures are missing.

about the loss of aircraft, naval vessels and armoured vehicles, i have to say i dont know. someone had posted a neutral source about aircraft losses, but i cant find it now

Both 65 and 71 figures are in doubt above. The 71 figures have to be broken down in terms of the insurgency and then the open war with India. As per the source/s I have (in books), the figures for 65 show more Indian KIA and PoWs but then these numbers can never be exact.

I remember reading soon after the 1965 war that Pakistani casualities were nearly 7,000. I think the above figure does not include the 5,000 Pakistani soldiers who infilterated occupied Kashmir just before actual fighting started. Most of these were betrayed by the Kashmiris and hunted down by the IA.

as i said, the figures are under doubt. the 71 figure is almost impossible to ascertain due to the insurgency and many low intensity conflicts, and many sites show different figures.

about 1965, i checked a lot of independant sites and most of them state the figures i quoted. but then again, as niaz said, there were many low intensity inflitrations and guerrila style-warfare that is probably not taken into account.
also, civilian casualities, like those during the attack on lahore, may sometimes be counted as military casualities or vice versa.

as about indians suffering more casualities than pakistan, i think those were for some individual battles than for the whole war. i think India lost way more men in the battle for lahore than pakistan.
