Featured Accepting the gift from Taiwan, the Chinese telephone to Dhaka expressing 'dismay'

BD is never going to fight for india over Kashmir or afganistan or anywhere else. It is simply inconceivable and will lead to immediate regime change as it will not have any support from the people.

Hope so.

Hasina is not really anti Pakistan..... its just politics and gets her money from india....

No, she has a personal grudge against Pakistan, courtesy of Mujib.

Was rohingya issue not a critical issue for BD. What was chinas reaction? They are fair weather friends, we do not need to pay too much heed to their needs. Against india china will not help, we are just a market for them.
Our alignment should be with the west as our economy is dependent on them.
Everything will carry on as normal... nothing will change.

I have asked pointed question and showed clear flaw in your logic. Diversifying relation is fine and no one saying Bangladesh should not. Having interaction with Taiwan by 3 regime ministers which China consider attacking "One China" policy, is not a relation diversifying act. It is direct assault on China's core interest. BNP did the same and paid darely for its stupid act. Oh, Walton the flagship brand of Bangladesh, which made the whole episode to happen, could be rendered worthless, if China wish to make that happen. They have that much of reach. Your shallow thinking will not get the difference, no worries. Rest of your opinion are even more shallower, worth no response.

Its merely my opinion dude....we can agree to disagree...its no big issue....your point is as valid as any.
I am just not a fan of BD following any other countries priorities when there is no reciprocal follow through. It will just lead to them taking us for granted.

.
Bangladesh first..... if US is to go head to head against china, BD needs to ensure strategic distance.
If not then what should you do in US and China war? send your aircraft carriers and stealth fighters in the favour of either?....R drop a nuke on one of them?

.
peace and respect ...

Hongkong & Taiwan is part of China .. we should not have done that and also the previous gov did same recognize Taiwan ...

.
You should have told him that you are starting direct flights between Dhaka and Taipei.

BD economic growth is due to its trade with the west. It is not with china. As such our priority should be the west. Its simple economics.

There is not going to be a direct confrontation between US and china....likely however there is going to be an economic tussle.

Whatever it is BD has no business being strategically allied with china. We have economic relationship and long may that remain and prosper.

My position is simple..... BD must follow its interest and balance relationship. We need to grow economically and there must be no priority beyond that....period.

This is the biggest little storm in a teacup....

slowly but surely indian stooge awami regime in "Bangladesh" destroying relation with China. Taiwan and One China policy is very core of Chinese policy stand. Mocking Chinese core belief by 3 regime minister can not happen without approval from regime PM Hasina herself.
However bad the BAL govt may be, it was in the past that the then Foreign Minister Morshed Khan allowed a Taiwanese 'Trade Mission' in Dhaka which was equivalent to its Embassy in disguise. Morshed Khan wanted his son Faisal to be the pioneer in the BD-Taiwan trade and business. It was not successful though because of heavy Chinese pressure.

So, what is your take on this matter that happened during the BNP time?

It was not Morshed Khan but another BNP minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury who did that. I have stated my opinion in previous post " BNP did the same and paid darely for its stupid act."

I almost accept what you said. However, the very diplomatic relationship with foreign countries are maintained or curtailed by the sitting FM. Morshed Khan was the then FM. So, how come you are blaming Amir Khosru Mahmud.

Whatever it may be, this was done during the BNP time and similar things are also being pursued by the present BAL govt. BNP or BAL, our govt ministerial posts are filled with those who passed their exams by cunning/copying. Perhaps they do not see any difference between PRC and Taiwan/Formosa.

That goes to show how little you know about internals behind the some selctive news articles. Amir Khosru was the commerce minister at that time and He was the one facilitated the Taiwanese trade office.

At present, it is not a competition where awami league wrong doing has to be overlooked because BNP did the same. If you can not come out of that mindset, you are not worthy of my time.

Perhaps they do not see any difference between PRC and Taiwan/Formosa.

You are as usual, just stating your cloud nine thinking, reality is completely different.

Could you pl;ease learn something like writing a post without making personal attacks? You lose the debates because of this style. By the way, Khosru cannot just open a Taiwanese trade office in Dhaka without direction from the FM. Only a FM can decide a foreign relationship. A Taiwanese trade office was meant for diplomatic activities. Trade Office was only the name, it was a virtual Embassy.

There was no personal attack, just pointed out severe shortcomings in your statements. Besides, you are not making any argument, you are plainly tip toeing to your cloud nine theory " Perhaps they do not see any difference between PRC and Taiwan/Formosa" and trying to justify awami league regime act (infliction on Bangladesh interest) because previous BNP regime did similar thing. None of such nonsense worthy of discussion for the topic. End of discussion with you on this.
