Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will make an 11-day visit to five countries in Central and South America from July 25, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Tuesday.
The five countries are Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Chile and Brazil. In Trinidad and Tobago, Abe will attend a summit between Japan and the Caribbean Community (Caricom). He will give a speech in Sao Paulo on Latin America policy.
At a news conference, Suga emphasized the importance of the Central and South American regions for the Japanese economy.
