Abe to ignore call from Obama not to visit Russia

I read a lot of bad thing about Hilary Clinton, I think East Asia will be doom if she get elected. My ideal pick is first Bernie Sander, then Trump but I have no idea how East Asia's geopolitics will be if he get elected.

IMO no matter who come into office, Sino-US relations will continue the same path. US foreign policy is still defined by it's geo-strategic interest of denying the rise of potential peer competitors. Remember history, Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, USSR... We may see some "warming" if a Republican takes office but don't expect too much.

How much chance does DPJ can win in the next election? and What is their party-stand? I got a feeling that DPJ is more pro-China than LDP.

If the DPJ can form a unity alliance with JIP before and ahead of the Upper House elections, then , she can easily coax minority parties whom are allied with LDP majority. She can eat away at LDP's base, and force the LDP by reducing the LDP's goal of having a 2/3rds majority vote needed to implement Constitutional Change Edict.

The take home point is --- BOTH the LDP and the DPJ want a constitutional change, but some positions that the LDP prefers may not be to the interest of DPJ. LDP cannot implement policy without the DPJ's cooperation, hence , in order for the LDP to get the green light, it will have to make critical concessions to DPJ/JIP. In other words, compromising.

As for DPJ's stance, yes, DPJ is very fond in Sino-Japanese relations. Tho i believe both LDP and DPJ both yearn for a greater working relationship with China (PRC). Just that DPJ parliamentarians are also very powerful in ideals-- they are the ones who talked about and introduced about notions of Japanese-Chinese Military Alliance.

Something that is slowly being permeated and considered by LDP parliamentarians..............

WOW, if this is some kind of thinking inside the Japanese parliament, then the NEAU is not that hopeless as some other members suggested here.

Japanese Parliament is in itself a whole different animal to be understood, my friend. You have all kinds of thinkers there, but , we can say that in general consensus and in just the types of debates held there real-term, there is a growing , growing reluctance for Japanese politicians to render dependence on America. Actually with the recent news of Pyongyang's recent nuclear tests -- it had led to further debate recently in the Diet in early February to redraw strategic ties with China. Japan is split now; on a political stage, which governs military , actually, there is a growing trend for self reliance and focus on inclusive multilateralism , away from a Washington-based perspective. The on the same time Japan is still left attached to the 1951 MDT , which is becoming even more less effective and less important as recent issues have risen and given ponder. To put an ease to Washington's fears of a critical split in Japanese foreign policy and political discourse, Japanese Government sent one of our leading military officers to calm American fears. However, that is a means to reassure. It does not hide the fact that the body of politic as a whole, is now rediscovering Japanese national policy , one that is separate from Washington's interests.

This, if implement, will eventually influence newer military policies. Which may or may not necessarily be to Washington's interests. But will be to that of Japan's.

@bbccdd1470 , if you have time, do listen to the whole speech. :)

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump, in his Las Vegas rally Tuesday, targeted Asian countries accusing them of poaching American jobs. Trump also assured his supporters that he would take back those jobs from the Asian nations.

“What I did on June 16, we came out and we started talking about trade, how we’re being ripped off with China, ripped off with Japan, ripped off with Mexico at the border and then trade, ripped off by Vietnam, and by India, and by every country,” the GOP front-runner said.

TPP is a way to keep US capitalist rich by sucking dry its vassal states such as JP, Sing, Aussie etc but at least US will keep those vassal states alive while none TPP nation like CN will face wt economy collapse.

I've lived in the west for too long and can tell you thing. NOTHING is going to change regardless who is in power in US.

Hilary works for the corporations. She can be brought out.
