Before the rise of AAP, I thought that the lok sabha elections in 2014 was going to be very interesting. Now it has become bewildering. The people who will vote for AAP are the people who are disgusted and frustrated with the congress - in other words, people who would otherwise have voted for the BJP. And now that AAP has done so spectacularly in Dehi, exceeding even their own expectations, more people who want a third alternative will vote for them.
So all in all, although it is anger at the congress that is getting the AAP votes, it may be the congress that actually benefits in the long run, since it is BJP's vote share that is being eroded, not the congress'. A BJP supporter would vote for the BJP, and a congress supporter would vote for congress. But a congress opposer, which is a superset of the BJP supporter, might vote for AAP. I think the AAP is a blessing in disguise for congress, who must be thanking their stars that they found somebody to take votes away from NaMo, even if it is not one from themselves.
State assembly elections and LS polls are very different. Urban class which voted AK to power in Delhi is educated and politically mature enough not to entrust the newbie entrant to take decisions on serious matters of internal security, foreign affairs etc. AAP can't be trusted to run the nation. If Urban mass dismisses RG since he lacks experience then they would dismiss AK too.
One more thing AAP will eat into the Congress' share of minority vote bank.
