Women's Day is coming soon, and we want you to be prepared!

International Women's Day is upon us and ladies you know what that means. And men, you clearly don't.

It's okay, we get it. It's a difficult time, where you have no idea how to maneuver in a world where women want the same importance as that of men. Heck 2018 was dubbed the year of the woman and that makes you all feel left out - even though you have 2,017 years to you but still!

March 8 is a scary day for men who don't quite understand all the hullaboo women have been creating all this time but don't worry! We're here to help you.

We have a solid guideline that'll get you through this extremely feminal day and who knows? Maybe it'll help you understand all that hullabaloo and maybe join in.

This is the one time of year where men wonder "Why is there no men's day?"

Let us make it easy for you, November 19 is International Men's day. You do have a day and it's been there for a while. Now that you know, maybe you can stop making it all about you and actually move on with the celebrations. Also, you don't wanna be the guy who thinks he's brought on an excellent point only to be so easily proven wrong.

Watch a movie with a strong female lead

We have seen women take the lead in cinema and it's getting better. Whether it's action like Wonder Woman or thriller like Black Swan or drama like Hidden Figures, we have 'em in every genre so you don't really have an excuse. Heck Pakistan has seen strong female leads with Cake and Motorcycle Girl so yeah. Pick a movie and watch it. It might be uncomfortable to see a woman do everything a man can and still be true to herself but hey, that's what we wanna normalise.

Reading utter tone-deaf comments/statements regarding the #MeToo movement & feminism in general. Gender sensitivity training should be mandatory across all fields.

Confused on how to be an ally to the women in your lives? OKB knows how it's done and maybe you could learn a thing or two on how to address problems that come with the patriarchy and internalised misogyny. You're more likely to listen to a man than a woman anyway and at this point, we'll take it.

Wish a stranger "Happy Women's Day" and mean it
yCAoGdVUCW5LW.gif

Go on, try and say it... without any sarcasm or mockery. It'd be better if you wish a man. It might be difficult with alllll that toxic masculinity making you want to punch a wall to prove yourself or your strength - we don't know why you act like this - but it's totally possible and it might make you feel nice since you won't have to put up a 'mard ko dard nahi hota' front.

Give the women in your life the gift of conversation
ziasoL61aAfTi.gif

Instead of flowers and chocolates to acknowledge the women in your life, start up a conversation with them and learn about the problems they're actually going through because of their gender. Sure, you could've looked up a lot of things all this time but now is better than never. Talk with the intent of learning rather than saying your piece. Remember, this is their day.

Resist the urge to say 'Not all men'
10B6SSXYi4mecg.gif

On Women's Day, you're bound to hear about the problems women go through including harassment, misogyny and hypocritical taboos of the society. And while we can give all the explanations in the world about how 'Not all men' is a ridiculous thing to say - and have been doing so long enough - but for now, all we ask is to do your part and avoid saying this phrase as a defense mechanism that shifts the conversation away from the important topics and, once again, makes it all about you.

Go to the Aurat March
5c7c5b79af67b.jpg

This might sound like a surprise but the Aurat March isn't something women do for fun.

They do it to reclaim public spaces and let their voices and issues be heard. You know what would make that great? If you'd hear 'em out. We're sure you want feminists to stop it already with this outcry of wanting their rights but here's the hack; join them in getting them the rights, they won't ask again if they have them!

And finally, khud khana garam karlo

BQcYn30f4pwTm.gif

Seriously, of all the days, this would be a good one to understand how household chores shouldn't be gendered and you taking care of your own needs doesn't make you any less of a man (who came up with that anyway?). Heat up your food, and if you're still unsure what women mean when they say this - even though it's been a year - then here's a simple outline to help you get the gist of it.

This article is a part of Images' International Women's Day coverage and was originally published on March 4, 2019

"International womens day"? More like International Zina day!

No need to celebrate this Western trash as we can see how much their own societies are falling apart from this feminist poison; from record number of babies who don't know their biological father to record number of cases with incurable sexually transmitted diseases like HPV, HIV, etc...

Cant seem to understand why some people are so hell bent on importing this poison to Pakistan.

Do you pledge to wear only, and only, shalwar kameez, and not the evil western dress that is pants and shirts, for the rest of your life?

. .
That's not an argument, that's a strawman

Western society is evil, and they don't follow Islamic customs. We should not be importing that ugly stuff from west.

As per Islamic customs, we all ought to wear loose clothing in society, both men and women. You know, change starts from home, so before expecting others to not follow western customs, do you plege to yourself begin wearing only shalwar kameez and not western evil haraam pants and shirts, or is that a privilege only available to men?

That's not an argument, that's a strawman

Hitting someone back with the same reasoning is not strawmaning.

Thank God, we neither use some western tech, Nor we celebrate National and Republic days as accustomed by west, nor we use their dress, nor we speak or write or learn English, nor we know what west is, nor have we signed the Western made Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Article 16: Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.)

Not when you didn't reason to begin with.

You can continue to speculate and self-project your own image on me without even actually knowing who i am or what i do let alone what i wear. Youre only wasting your own time :coffee:

I turned off the visibility of unwanted post on my facebook and other social media 8-)

Maybe in a messed up home they may have an issue

  • My mother has home rights
  • My mom has her own bank account
  • My mother has money given to her from my father and myself never ask her for it
  • My mother eats same time as us
  • My mother did go to school
  • She did educate all of my siblings
  • Never seen my father ever beat my mother
  • She is treated like Queen of home

I never felt that she lacked any rights

All my insurance policy her name is as a beneficiary

I think most of people who are on this Aurat March are from disturbed or dysfunctional homes

If you look at many of the feminist advertisement

  • Just want right to have s** freely with random people, they hide the message neatly
  • No question asked immoral behaviour
  • Want protection for weird relations
  • Mera Jism meri merzie ~ plain and simple immoral undertones
  • An objection to be member of home but acceptance to go to night clubs
  • Participation in Fashion show and the bold the better

They they go and turn around and ask , I want to lead your prayers as a Imam you heard the news , in western media , some random lady wants to become Imam

When majority of these ladies become divorced then the blame the system that the problem is with men , who can't accept them for their openness

:disagree:

All languages are from Allah as He endowed mankind with the intellect to speak in multiple tongues.

“And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colours” [ar-Room 30:22].

You mean the Human Rights that even West itself doesn't follow (biggest protectors of Israel from human rights violations).

The west invented this "Declaration of Human Rights" jibberish for gullible minds like you while they themselves violate it day in and day out. :disagree:

. .
The Eastern Bloc when it existed did promote IWN as a holiday but encouraged "national values" or something on lines of that western neo liberal Capitalists just turned around to make it about consumerism and degeneracy

May Allah swt bless your family. There is no deficiency if we follow Islam and our culture properly.

The more important thing now for Pakistan is not fighting hijab, warming food, serving chai, and other useless issues, but the whole system which lets corrupt and vile human beings (men and women) get away with injustice towards the common man or woman.

That's not an argument, that's a strawman

The logic is laughable. If we men wear western clothes, we cannot stop women from taking off hijab, wearing tight clothes, having bfs, or being lesbians.

Do words and teachings of Prophet Muhammad saws mean nothing to us?

We have to stem the neoliberal tide in Pakistan. Unfortunately most of the diaspora support these people.

Anything from the Noble Book about fulfilling yours accords when done? (and this one is not conditional so as one breaks and other leaves if in case you are thinking that, its open accord). Also, might be some example of great MAN sticking to the toughest and unfair treaty signed?
Well this discussion/debate won't go anywhere, so I take my leave by resting with this. "Human, Women, Children, Specially-able, Inter-sex and any other RIGHTS form has got nothing to do with feminism, Liberalism, Western-ism or anything as such, in my view.
Thanks and best wishes!

Pakistan does not have a crisis on Women Issues

  • We have Schools for Education
  • We have Universities
  • There are jobs for Women
  • Women are treated with great respect in high % of Pakistani Homes
  • Our religion teaches us to respect women from day 1

The only major issue is poverty

  • In Villages, there are issues of police and security but that impacts men / women equally. Performance of police is different issue

The agenda for Feminist is messed up it targets the family structure and social structure of families

Sorry but why do women have to ride motorcycles or go to gyms to feel equal to men ??

Women are female and have their own way of feminine existence, without them becoming quasi-men.
