A Kargil on Pakistan Possible?

It has already happened and was successful. Siachen.

The Siachen is a useless region with no strategic value. The dispute over that region is literally described as "two bald men fighting over a comb", and your forces waste so much money and lives trying to protect it.

The real prize is what's beyond that, but the Pakistani military is firmly entrenched there so you have no chance of taking that.

In other words, you failed to achieve anything.

But in Kargil, the Pakistani military took Point 5353, which is the region's dominating feature. We still control it to this very day.

Lt. Col. Kuldip Singh Ludra states, "it dominates, by observation and fire, the complete area on both sides of the Line of Control."

As far as Kargil is concerned we attacked when Indian soldiers were not present in their posts things on our side are not like that i think.

Now i don't believe there will be any ground attack but cross border artillery and/or airstrikes are indeed possible because let's be honest there is immense pressure on Indian gov at the moment. Full scale war is not possible but expect extremely heavy fighting on LOC Pakistan will obv respond in a an appropriate manner but none of the party's will like to escalate the situation. Western powers will obv ask the both parties to back down like they always do.

Now as far as resolving this issue is concerned PM has offered co-operation in today's

Address.

"Today, I would like to make the Indian government an offer. Any sort of investigation you wish carried out regarding this incident about the involvement of any Pakistani, we are ready [for it].

"If you have any actionable intelligence that a Pakistani is involved, give it to us. I guarantee you that we will take action ─ not because we are under pressure, but because they [any individuals found involved] are acting as enemies of Pakistan."

"If someone is using Pakistan's soil [to carry out terror attacks elsewhere], it is [akin to] enmity with us. It is against our interests."

The prime minister added that whenever Pakistan tries to initiate dialogue with India, Delhi's precondition is that terrorism must be talked about.

"We are ready to talk about terrorism. Terrorism is a regional issue [...] We want terrorism in the region to end," he stated. "Pakistan has been the worst affected by terrorism [...] Therefore, we are ready to talk with you."

@Desert Fox @Nilgiri @Signalian guys what you say?

I have to give some time (at least till Indian elections are wrapped up), its too early for me to comment.

Since india is creating hype and invigorating warmongering after Pulwana incident, many possible strategies are being formed in india. Mainly considering the options of air strike, artillary/rocket fire or similar fake surgical drama as india did it last time. As india has to show something this time..something substantial other than URI bollywood movie.

One option being discussed is very interesting that india should launch a Kargil like operation against Pakistan. Is it really possible that india might try to pull out a Kargil like scenario on Pakistan and try to capture some of Azad Kashmir territory.

How real is this threat and, what if it happens, be the appropriate response from Pakistan? Can Pakistan avoid it or force india to go back? And what will be the response of world powers? In Kargil they asked Pakistan to leave the region unconditionally..how will western powers will play this time?

Have you noticed the mobilization time that India takes whenever an incident occurs ?
Can you calculate the response time for 26/11 when the aircraft showed up?
how many days did it take to make that imaginary surgical strike after Uri incident?

.
it's very much possible.there are two options.iaf strikes or capturing all pakistani strategic posts.indians have analyzed kargil.this cold start comes from kargil.they know the importance of capturing strategic locations.

Do you actually know whats going on?

Thats starting a full fledged war.

Lost the element of surprise. How will this act achieve any success strategically?

i think it can.they want haji pir pass because it connect uri with another town.they also want strategic locations like army posts our side.they want to capture all strategic locations, basically peaks.it's just like siachen.they want peaks and we know that.yes a full fledged war is possible in this case but this is what they want.

I'm concerned about the reaction of China ? Will it interfere if it comes to it's investment in Pakistan?

True. My view is more or less the same as yours.

So much has changed since Kargil and both sides learned valuable lessons not to mention technological advancements since have made any sneaky operations like that one next to impossible.

There is no surprise when you shout out the plan on media alerting your adversary.

Pakistan has cleared FATA and now baluchistan is in progress of cleansing, without a military Op. Pakistan has seen that firing pellets and shooting guns on own citizens produces Uri and Pulawama. The act of miscreants laying down weapons in Baluchistan is pinching india as same is not happening in Kashmir. Its frustrating for India that a trigger happy India is unable to control own citizens and neither a smaller country like Pakistan. The amount of troubled incidents happening in Pakistan have reduced and every year Pakistan is inching towards progress.
India being a bully and wanting to suppress Pakistan through the barrel of a gun ?and if that's not enough, blame and insult Pakistan internationally to isolate it? India should learn a lesson from Pakistan how to handle insurgency and win hearts of citizens. This is not the first time that India is giving warning and threats of military action and openly telling Pakistan what kind of action will be taken,Pakistan has been through much worse, still standing strong. India in 1971 dismembered Pakistan and dreams of doing the same again, but the leadership has changed, geo-politics has changed. Pakistan's leadership stands undeterred while Indian leadership stands egositic.

Very similar statements were put out by Pakistani PMs in past as well. Indian establishment will find it very hard to believe this .On top of that, no condemnation from IK on the attack itself. Editing of the video was very bad . At least one such line should have been included to make this offer look like a serious one. Not to forget the pearls of wisdom from Railway minister about " mandir ki ghantiyan".

Do you people have any brain?
Pakistan supports Kashmir freedom movement
you expect Pakistan to condemn Kashmiri freedom fighter?
retard nation!!
