Yep I agree. I'm not aware of how good it's in the medical school itself. I should've mentioned that on the earlier post to avoid misunderstandings. Are you seriously judging the quality of Medical education by your experience in a third rate scam coaching center? Seriously dude these coaching centers aren't even legal & don't have any credentials or accreditation from any authority, coaching business is absolutely illegal in BD. And 99 of 100 who teach there is mostly current students or by former students who still haven't landed a good enough job. Gees.
As I have pointed it out before, a person's skill in a foreign language or even in his mother tounge(not everyone is god gifted good with words or teaching abilities;teaching people how to perform a diagnosis & doing it yourself is two different matter, and not everyone is good at both) isn't a scale to judge his professional skill or his eligibility as a professional in his/her field. Get out of those colonial mindset for goodness sake. I meet professionals from various countries, many(may say more than many) have an English skill equal to a eight grader. But they are nothing but absolute best in their job. Go meet some German, Japanese or Chinese doctors/Engineers, see how many words they speak with you in English. In Germany it's literally 'no German, no helthcare ' as you would be very very lucky to find a doctor who speaks anything other than German, & land an appointment. I experienced it first hand during my first year in Germany.
But in medicine from how much ever experience I have gather on the first year... practical skill and knowledge is more important than by hearting facts only for the sake of forgetting it after a month or two.
But I think for someone who isn't aligned with political parties .... from abroad for ex like me. It's difficult to know whereabouts of how and what to do to get admission in govt run medical college which on average have a higher value or looked upon highly compared to private institutions.
I would like to think differently....Chances are you have been provided wrong guidance about medical coaching.
The medical admission tests for govt. colleges are quite competitive. The acceptance rate is even less than 1%. The foreign students are studying there through quota seats and I believe they wouldn't be able to crack the admission tests if the quotas are withdrawn.
Govt college admissions on average are given more to children of political figures...
Ex. Former/ maybe current health ministers son?
The MP was a orthopedic I guess
His son was wack in studies but got into medical school and even managed to get senior doctor like salary from starting because of his dads influence.... I believe the dude had some problem with patients and he was talked about in the media a few years back.
Same goes for BUET... not in top 100 like it used to be. Now in top 1000.
And dhaka uni from top 100 to top 400 to now not even ranked in top 1000...
Political influence in higher education institutions have hindered the quality of studies.
But that doesn't make it a fact, that all students studying there are below average. Where there is will. There is way.... and are world class standard medical professionals.
