Cold War Documentary in HQ (1917-1991) - YouTube

There are 24 episodes--about 45 minutes each. So be patient. Be curious. Be aware that this, while this may seem 'balanced' at first site, does have a pro-Western bias. Still extremely good.

As some one who is in his 40's I could only sufficiently relate the ending days of the Cold War: The Soviet pullback from Afghanistan in 1989, the Fall of the Berlin Wall, the Solidarity Movement in Poland, the videos of the Romanian leader nicolae ceausescu's large public gathering and his immediate death, and the Russian coup and Yelstin's rise, and the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991.

who cares cold war anymore thank god it went away

Agreed! The threat of nuclear holocaust is no more.

However, we, who are curious about how different governments operate NOW must watch the series to understand how they operated THEN. I had a vague idea about various events but the documentary served as a glue to understanding so many events from the Bolshevik Revolution till the breakup of Soviet Union.
