What's new

8K videos now start to appear on YouTube

Guys can someone answer this as I don't have a clue.
My laptop is an asus laptop. I looked at that video in 8K and it really slowed down my computer and it looked better than 1080P. How is that possible? Is my laptop monitor capable of showing 8K? I thought you need monitor capable of showing 8K for that...

No it means that either the videos which u watched at 1080 P were not truly 1080 or it means ur screen can show better then 1080 P but not 4 or 8 K maybe 2 K or something... That is what logic dictates the rest Google away

Yeah that's what I assumed. I think it can show better than 1080P but nowhere near the 4k etc. My laptop near exploded when I clicked on the 8K :D

Bought a blackmagic 4k production camera recently, working on post production and colour grading with divinci is Fing murder...an on the fastest HP workstation available. Try doing this with 8k files....lol...gonna need some mega processing to work on those files.

you should have looked at my next comment...

i don't care about this 4k and 8k business.

i only meant this is unnecessary technology... real sophistication is simplification and elegance, not adding to the present chaos.

I have 4th Gen i7 with 8GB Ram and SSD - and it is stucking on 8K Video. Not sure if browser is unable to support or is its processing too hard on CPU, but whatever is the reason, our hardware/software is not ready for 8K yet.

Even 4 titans and an 8 core i7 can not come close to giving good fps for any modern demanding game at 8k guys chill

SSD makes 0 difference, so does RAM, you need to buy a graphics card.

There will be hardly any game out there which will be 8k And not to forget refresh rate of Monitor . It will make a toast of GPU

8K has nothing to do with frame rate. You can have 30fps on 8K or 60....though 45 would be the ideal compromise. A top end R290 or 980GTX running a Quad SLI or Crossfire can churn out 8K at 30 fps..........but again it depends a lot on the games and the drivers.

i think the issue more of compatibility with graphics drivers for 8K videos making them lag. Currently no consumer software is available which can play 8k video. cyberlink power dvd can play upto 4k. which is one of the most power ful HD software. AMD catalyst can only support upto 4k videos.

what my thinking is issues is more like a compatibility rather than hardware.
