Before you read, you don't have to. I don't post much because I'm quite terrible at it and it turns out like walls of texts which now I realise this one has turned into. I get to writing things that are irrelevant or maybe relevant but no need for that much details.
Exactly. That's why I said in the beginning that iPhone is a toy of filthy rich people who doesn't have lots of scope to spend their easy earning money.
That is such a stretch. You can buy iPhones XR for $600. Now, for an average Bangladeshi, that is indeed far too much. But apple doesn't even have Bangladesh region and they don't have any store in BD. For the average people in developed or near developed countries, that isn't a lot. It can be clearly seen by how many phones they sell.
iPhone 11 costs $700. And not one even comes close to the number of units they sell. The next one being a cheap Samsung phone and not their flagship galaxy or note series. Out of the top 10 selling, 5 are iPhones. Two of them costs $1000 and $1100. While the android counterparts are all cheap phones.
And normal people do not need to flash roms or whatever.
Not talking about pirated software man. You even legally can't buy anything outside of apple store. Correct me if I am wrong.
@bête noire
Depends on what you want to buy. Specific things can be bought outside of App Store, like movie streaming services Netflix, Hulu - game streaming like xCloud - music streaming Spotify, YouTube premium or VPN services, physical product selling apps like Amazon etc.
If you are talking about buying apps itself from another App Store then no. The reason is quite simple. Apple needs to control all transaction on their end, on their phones or tablets unless it has anything to do with physical goods selling apps like Amazon. You shouldn't be able to spend whatever and buy whatever and have no track of those.
Things like parental control are great reason for this. Your children cannot spend money outside of apple store where you have no control over. You can set limits for anything apple but wouldn't be able to if there where other App Store. Any transaction going through apple also ensures security where any users will not think twice about getting scammed when buying anything from their App Store or any apps with in app purchases.
Apple also develops and provides all the developer tools that are needed to make apps for their iOS platform. They add features for coders to use and make everything easy every year, like a few years ago they introduced Swift UI that simplifies coding an app from scratch where you can get to the important part without spending a lot of time on initial application setup and looks, as they can e done with a few lines of code. Developers are supposed to pay apple for this by giving 30% cut on app purchases and 30% in the first year off of in app purchase and 15% from the 2nd years. Another App Store would literally make it so apple provides everything but get nothing in return if developers choose other app stores to put their apps on.
You can't compare googles android to iOS in here. They both have very different business model.
