72.5% of Taiwanese willing to fight against Chinese invasion

.
Oooo please... I know a couple of Taiwanese, the moment PRC declares war, the bulk will run and migrate. They like to talk big but when the Red Army marches in..... They will literally surrender

I agree.

Their Han forefathers ran away from China to occupy Formosa.
So Japanese kicked Dutch out of Taiwan. Am I right?

Dutch, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese were all Colonial occupiers.

Formosa belongs to the Austronesian native people.

Who cares about propaganda. Hard power wins. Always.

Taiwan was never a Chinese territory to start with.

Formosa was a Spanish and Dutch colony in the 1600s.

There were hardly any Chinese on the Island when Europeans showed up.

Formosa was then inhabited by the Austronesian native tribes only.

The island later fell to Colonial Japan which was later forced to give up as part of WWII deal.

ROC Chinese fled China and illegally occupied Formosa.

Now Chinese PRC is going take it and no one will stop it.

China will not take it. Its that simple. Taiwan is a US colony and unsinkable aircraft carrier for the US and will stay that way
strictly speaking, outside of the Japanese home islands, imperial japan's first colony was the Ryukyu Islands.

I thought Hokkaido

. . .
There were no Chinese. ROC Chinese occupied Formosa later in 1949 after the WWII. Japanese had left Formosa by then.
If that was true, that would be great as DDP would not exist.
But then I do not expect Indians to know much about Taiwan history.

Anyway I recommend watching the movie. It's a good movie directed by John Woo.

Let agree on some basic facts.

  1. There were no Han Chinese in 1600s when Dutch and Spanish colonizers showed up at Formosa (aka Taiwan). Formosa was then inhabited by the Austronesian native tribes only.
  2. A few Han Chinese occupied Formosa during the Colonial period as Imperial China saw strategic importance and wanted to mimic and compete with the Japan, Europe and the US
  3. Imperial China lost the battle with Imperial Japan in 1895 and lost control of Formosa Japan
  4. In 1945 after Imperial Japan lost WWII, US forced Imperial Japan to relinquish control on Formosa
  5. Majority of ROC Han Chinese moved into Formosa to illegally occupy the Formosa Island in 1949

Neither the PRC Han Chinese nor the ROC Han Chinese have any legal claims on Formosa. Both all occupiers and illegally squatting on the Island.

Formosa belongs to the Austronesian native tribes only.

Han Chinese are occupiers and need to leave the Island. PRC should accept ROC Han Chinese into China.

Yes, Taiwan is the ancestral home to all the Austronesian and even the Malays. Amei, the famous Taiwanese mandarin pop singer is more related to Malay in Malaysia then Han Chinese.

But we all live in a real world. You cannot make 20 million Han to just leave Taiwan.

Their ROC Han forefathers left China to Formosa back in 1949. So If PRC facilitates, they will move back to China.

Here's how China views this survey.

If Taiwan declared independence and China invaded in response, Taiwanese were 10% less willing to protect their country, with 31.9% very willing, 30.8% willing, 11.3% unwilling, 15.4% very unwilling, and 10.6% made no selection.

15.4% very unwilling > those waiting for China to take over.
11.3% unwilling > those waiting for China to take over, but feeling shy.
30.8% willing > those waiting for China, but feeling peer pressure for the time being.
31.9% very willing > its OK, they'll come around.

When presented with the statement "Democracy may have problems, but it is still the best system," 75.3% agreed, with 27.8% strongly agreeing and 47.5% agreeing. Of the remainder, 10.9% strongly disagreed, 3.2% completely disagreed, and 10.5% provided no response.

3.2% completely disagree > potential ruling class.
10.9% strongly disagree > future CCP members.
47% agreeing > waiting to find out which roles they will get.
27.8% strongly agreeing > little opposition is good for a healthy society, no-one wants an echo chamber.

That's why they have conscription right? Everyone talks a good fight, but once the bullets fly it's bye bye.

To our Chinese members, what do you think of the Tiananmen Square massacre?

Yes all ROC males are required to serve in the national service. But thanks to the faggoty Korean culture currently going around East Asia, I doubt they can fight. We still have the tough grit peasants in China, especially the North.
