7 killed, 21 injured in Peshawar check post blast

PESHAWAR: At least seven people were killed and 21 others injured as a bomb exploded near a check post in Peshawar’s Karkhano Market, adjacent to Jamrud in Khyber Agency on Tuesday.

“Seven people have been killed and 21 others injured,” officials of Hayatabad Medical Complex toldThe Express Tribune. Casualties are feared to rise, the officials added. Further, a hospital source said a child and four security officials are among the dead.

“Jamrud Khasadar Line officer Nawab Shah’s car was the target of the attack,” an official added.

Eyewitnesses say the explosive device was planted in a motorbike. However, there are conflicting reports as to whether it was a suicide blast or a remotely controlled device. ”Cars and the area around the site of the blast are engulfed in fire,” an eyewitness said.

The recent attacks in Pakistan will continue as long as afghan taliban and afghan peace talk dont succeed and currently india is trying to somehow sabotage the talks as it is in india interest to have an unstable afghanistan so they can hinder the progress of Pakistan.
