1. Pakistan is the land of oldest Civilization – Indus Valley and Mohenjo-Daro. Pakistan is the 6th largest nation of the world containing one of the oldest civilizations in history [Mehrgarh, on the Kachi plain of Balochistan, dates back to 6000 BC and one of the earliest known farming villages of Indus Valley Pakistan]

2. Pakistan is the first Islamic country in the world to attain nuclear power. One might argue that it is something a country should be proud of. But, marking your presence on the Globe along with the most powerful countries is something any country should be proud of. It is believed that Pakistan has possessed nuclear weapons since the mid-1980s, in an on-going arms race between them and India.

3. Karakoram Highway runs through the northern areas connecting Pakistan with China’s Xingjiang province is often described as ” Eighth Wonder of the World” due to the marvel of civil engineering as it has taken 15 years to complete by the Pakistan Army Engineers in collaboration with China. It’s been labeled as ” World’s highest paved international Road” under world’s toughest terrain.

4. Pakistani armed forces are internationally ranked as the seventh largest in the world, with the man power of 642,000. Pakistan provides the largest number of troops to serve the UN peacekeeping missions. Currently it is the only nuclear power in the Muslim world. Pakistan is the first Islamic country to attain nuclear power in 1998.

5. The Faisal Mosque in Islamabad can accommodate almost 100,000 worshipers. Completed in 1976, it could at that time probably hold the city’s entire population. The Faisal Mosque was the largest mosque in the world from 1986 until 1993.

6. The massive Karakoram, Hindu Kush and Pamir mountain ranges to the North of Pakistan contain 5 of the 14 mountain peaks in the world over 8000 m (26,250 ft) high, including the world’s second highest mountain, K2 at 8611 m (28,251 ft) and Nanga Parbat at 8126 m.

7. Islamabad Capital Territory, located on the Pothohar Plateau of the Punjab region, is considered one of the earliest sites of human settlement in Asia. Some of the earliest Stone Age artefacts in the world have been found on the plateau, dating from 100,000 to 500,000 years ago.
