A 660 megawatt coal powered plant will be setup in Punjab in collaboration with Royal Energy Partner of UAE.

A spokesperson of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade‚ told Radio Pakistan’s Lahore correspondent Mushtaq Ahmed Kaifi that Royal Energy Partner of UAE will initially invest $890 million for execution of the project.

Responding to a question‚ the spokesperson said the Punjab Mines and Mineral Department has identified sites for generation of 1400 megawatt power from coal.

There were some discoveries of Oil, Gas, Coal and other minerals in Punjab as well as in Gilgit but no investment were done there...

Hopefully this GoP will bring investment in Oil, Gas, Coal and other minerals.

Sindh should also welcome Middle Eastern investor as there are huge reserves of Oil and gas in Arabian sea as well as on Land in Sindh and Balochistan.

Pakistan can use a mix of Oil, Gas and Coal along with Wind, Solar and Nuclear energy.
