5 security personnel martyred in Balochistan

Therefore, lets not buy MRAP's and let soldiers die when their troop carrier turns turtle?
No, lets just point fingers and score brownies over a pot of Haldi Daal.

You are not getting it,army's job is not to find ways to make money by getting into business ventures.
Bribe case is not a business run by an organization ,some individuals do and when cought get punished just like your forces .no army runs it's own business ,I mean a professional army

I think you too are also not getting the point about Military Inc. The entire gripe in that book is about how those related to the military (this is ex-servicemen or in uniform board members) are involved in business ventures. That in itself is not a problem even if the government of the day gives these foundations preferential treatment. Not a rupee from these foundations and business interests goes into the military's budget or pockets. Fauji Foundation and the likes do not generate income for the GHQ. They are under a separate head in the MoD. The problem with the critique is that it is just skin deep. The gripe is that the Pakistani military runs these business interests. The reality is far from it.

Their purpose is to cater to the retired personnel and offer services to retired/serving officials and also to the public. There is an apex admin committee (which acts as a high level board of governors), with its head being a civilian secretary out of the MoD, which has military representation (officers from Army, Navy and PAF HQ). Beyond that, none of the officers in any of these foundations (Fauji, Bahria and Shaheen) are serving officers!

The revenues from these foundations do NOT go into the coffers of the armed forces. The military is not a revenue generating entity. Every single thing they purchase has to come out of the budget that the Finance Ministry provides to them as part of their annual or discretionary budgets. They don't dip into the earnings of these foundations because they have no way of doing that.

In addition, these foundations play a solid part in Pakistan's mainstream economy. They employ thousands of people (ex-servicemen and officers are given preference) and their business interests are no different than those of privately held companies. The only issue that one can take up is that they get preferential treatment from the government on land grants, taxation etc., but that is the cost of subsidizing retired personnel.

If a serving officer was to be found skimming money from these foundations, he would be court-martialed.

FC Balochistan is operating loosely because pf which we are loosing our boys. There is no choice but start full scale military operation similar to Zarb E azb in the province, otherwise we will continue to see looses.

I don’t know why PA is not considering any full scale military operation in the province. Balochistan province is infested with rented terrorists & only full scale military operation can cleanse the province.

The reason the Army does not launch an operation there is because of the propaganda done against the military (the Baloch nationalists use Musharraf and Bhutto's military operations as one of the reasons for their disagreement with the Federation.) As a result, the government has decided to use a para-military force under the purview of the Interior Ministry to handle the security situation.

There is no quick fix here. The situation will continue like this. It is not something that is boiling over. With the low level insurgency there, some losses will be taken however as long as the economic activity is not being suppressed, which it is not, it can be managed. Actually the best antidote to militancy in Balochistan is economic activity. The more Baloch are engaged, the less disenfranchised joining BLA and the likes. This is not a short term fix though.

i think musharraf has done more harm to pakistan than anyone else. kargil war , prliament attack -deteriorating relations with india. killing of nawab akbar bugti
