ARNIA: Five people were killed and 25 injured in a major ceasefire violation along the International Border in the Arnia sector of Jammu and Kashmir early on Monday morning.

The five civilians, including two women and one 13-year-old girl, were killed when Pakistan rangers started firing randomly at posts of the Border Security Force or BSF and civilian areas in the sector at around 1.30 am. Heavy mortar shelling was also reported from the area.

All the injured have been shifted to the government medical college in Jammu.

"In one of their most serious ceasefire violations, Pakistan Rangers resorted to indiscriminate firing on Indian positions in Arnia sub-sector of international border during the night," said a senior police officer.

"They resorted to mortar shelling and automatic weapons firing. Emergency relief teams have been rushed to the area," the officer added.

Shelling from the Pakistani side was so heavy that some mortar shells reportedly fell inside the Arnia bus stand which is more than four kilometres away from the international border.

The firing in Arnia and RS Pura Sector is still going on intermittently; BSF personnel say they are responding to the ceasefire violation.

Relations improve or not. But atleast ceasefire should be maintained. Any human loss is tragedy.

Pak Army giving cover fire to Mujahidins for infiltration is actually their attempt to establish people to people contact in Kashmir. But beghairat Indians dont understand Pakistan's generosity.
I know Modi Ji knows how to handle this issue he will attack us with Agni -V  please tell Modi not to
