Very good dig, bro. But Cantonese is not a language. Just saying.
Also, if one can understand Mandarin, you can understand all the Mandarin spoken in China, Singapore, Malaysia and anywhere where Mandarin is spoken.
Let me invite others for their inputs

Southeast Asia is one of the most diverse regions in the world in terms of language.

Northeast Asia, however, is diverse in dialects, but less in languages. As you say, especially in Greater China, Mandarin is the universal tool for communication, along with local dialects.

Few more mistakes i noticed.. ie;

Indonesia - Bahasa Indonesia not Indonesian
Maldives - Divehi not Maldivian
Philippines - Tagalog not Filipino

Language or dialect?
You mean dialect. Coz the writing is still traditional Chinese. So basically it's a dialect.

04:53 proud moment for Tamil, (World's Oldest Surviving Classical Language), butt hurt moment for Indians and Hindi chauvinists

That place use to be where Indian prisoners brought in by the British from Tamil nadu toiled n carried cargo lol

Atually, most Tamil population in Singapore today are the descendants of these prisoners.

We really appreciate the Singaporean Tamils, doing jobs that others shun n avoid here in Singapore.

Tamil language and Tamil Culture are one of the ancient culture in our history...Why any Indian will feel bad for it...We are a diverse country...Something is good does not mean others will feel bad..

if India respected diversity, it wouldn't be forcefully imposing Hindi on Tamils or tried to replace Tamil with Hindi as Singapore's official language.

Chennai Airport Authority India's official getting an earful from a Tamil passenger for speaking in Hindi (please tell why airport , railway, banks and all central govt jobs in Tamilnadu are filled by non Tamil speaking hindis ?)

The Indian government has responsibly nudged the tiny island state into replacing Tamil with Hindi.

The tamil diaspora is a tiny minority in Singapore (6.9%) but they are a threat to Hindi nonetheless. Only a systematic approach can help remove this dying language so we may put Hindi in its rightful place.

‘Your job is not to promote Hindi’: Kanyakumari Railway Users’ Association slams IRCTC
When one types the name of a place on the website, the menu shows the name of the place in Hindi, English and station code — in that order.

Canton is a dialect not a language``````its general gramma still goes with Mandarin, but it varies a little bit when constructing few local expressions, same as hundreds of other dialects that Zhejiang has as compared to Mandarin

Anybody have a guess at which Chinese dialects are the most difficult to understand.
Cantonese is widely spoken, so should be considered not difficult, especially the older generation.
Minnan or Hokkien is easy for us Singaporeans but may not be so for Northern Chinese.
