Senior counterterrorism official along with his three guards were killed after their vehicle hit a roadside placed mine in Archi district, northern Kundoz province, an official said Thursday.
Archi district chief, Shaikh Saduddin told Wakht News Agency that counterterrorism manger of the district, Qamaruddin along with his three bodyguards were killed and two other wounded after their vehicle struck a roadside mine in the area of Idgah in the township.
The Taliban in a telephone contact with Wakht News Agency claimed the responsibility, saying many policemen were killed and wounded in the incident.
This is while 9 people including the policemen had been wounded in Baghlan-e-Markazi district, neighboring Baghlan province last day.
