4 ‘kidnappers’ killed as police recover child in Karachi

KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies on Thursday recovered a three year old child, who was kidnapped for ransom.


During the raid, which was conducted jointly by the CPLC and the Anti-Violent Crime Cell of the Karachi police, three alleged kidnappers were killed.


According to CPLC Chief Ahmed Chinoy, Mahi, daughter of Dr Sunil, was allegedly kidnapped from SITE area of the city. Initially, he said, the abductors sought Rs100 million but the issue was settled at Rs 60 million.


The CPLC chief said that an accused was killed during a shootout that took place between the abductors and law enforcers near Kashif Centre on Shahra-e-Faisal to collect the ransom.


He said an operation was carried out for the recovery of the child in which three alleged abductors were killed while five police officials were injured. SSP Niaz Khoso told the media that four Kalashnikovs and as many pistols were recovered from the possession of the accused.

By the way the little girl belonged to hindu community and both the parents are doctors. The father(Dr Sunil) was a colleague of my doctor cousin. According to him Dr Sunil is a great chap and a very friendly individual.
