4,500-year-old Neolithic tool discovered in Tamil Nadu - The Times of India
Padmini Sivarajah,TNN | Jan 23, 2015, 08.59 PM IST

MADURAI: A tool that may have been used by man in the Neolithic period was discovered from a sand mound at T Gudalur in Tamil Nadu.

A letter similar to the Indus valley script was inscribed on the tool.

Amateur archeologist V Narayanamoorthy said he had been informed about a 12 feet high mound near the Dindigul - Karur highway. This site is situated about 120 kms away from Palani and 17 kms from Karur with the Cauvery river flowing in its vicinity.

Narayanamoorthy excavated the site and found a stone resembling a hunting weapon of man lived around 3,500 years ago.

The triangle tool is made of quartz and weighs 216gm. It is 8cm in height and has a circumference of 13cm, according to Naryanamoorthy.

This tool has two blunt ends and three sharp points. The sharp edges were meant to kill an animal in one go.

Another important aspect of this tool is that it has an inscription similar to the 396th letter of the Indus Valley script. The letter has two circles and a line, with the line being slightly out of place. This was another proof for the similarities between the Indus Valley the Dravidian civilizations, according to him.

Sushruta (Around 800 BC)[1] was an ancient Indian surgeon and is the author of the book Sushruta Samhita, in which he describes over 300 surgical procedures and 120 surgical instruments and classifies human surgery in 8 categories. He lived, taught and practiced his art on the banks of the Ganges in the area that corresponds to the present day city of Benares in North India.

Because of his seminal and numerous contributions to the science and art of surgery he is also known by the title "Father of Surgery." Much of what is known about this inventive surgeon is contained in a series of volumes he authored, which are collectively known as the Sushruta Samhita.[2]

Ganesh bhagwan is a mythological figure of Hindu religeon. There is no proof that he exisited. But Shushruta actually existed and he did perfom surgeries. In cosmetic surgery world, rhinoplasty is still known as 'Indian nose job'

Rhinoplasty techniques were carried out in ancient India by the ayurvedic physician Sushruta (c. 800 BC), who described reconstruction of the nose in the Sushruta samhita (c. 500 BC), his medico–surgical compendium. The physician Sushruta and his medical students developed and applied plastic surgical techniques for reconstructing noses,

I have taken a Archaelogy course in University. I was just making a jab at Hinduvta brigade that claim 10,000 year old advanced Hindu civilization in India. The proof is in the pudding as proven by this archaeological discovery and not a religious myth.

The humanity evolved in Africa and some migrated to Tamil Nadu passing through Pakistan in several generations. But according to Hinduvta all humans started from India and settled in rest of the world. The Aryans migrated from Eurasia to South Asia but Hinduvta claim that its other way around.
