If the borders are fenced they will just break through using bangalores like the Algerian fighters in the 1960s against the French.
Plus the UK has just announced recently to invest some £700 Million in new vehicles so I doubt they will want to leave after putting in that kind of money.
correct! the solution to that is increasing the number of border posts (~250 already and manned by FC), and aerial surveillance of the border with UAVs. so its a combination of fencing, ground monitoring and aerial surveillance. this requires money though! also this has to be replicated on the afghan side also. sorta like the DMZ line between S and N Korea. no infiltration there even though the pak-afghan border is much longer.
