Sri Lanka is suffering a Buddhist resurgence and suffering Buddhist anger against Muslims from Burma and Indian propaganda.

For a couple of years now, Buddhist monks have been railing against Muslims by demanding religious Buddhists to boycott Muslim businesses. They have even burned shops and desecrated holy places.

As expected the Sri Lankan police stood by and even supported the Buddhist mob.

The situation has turned volatile in large part to the SL government inaction at Buddhist terror.

After defeating LTTE and subduing the hindu Tamil population of SL, Buddhist extremists shifted their focus to Muslim Tamils (who were always loyal to the government of SL.)

If there are “Muslims” responsible for this attack on a completely irrelevant community in SL (Christians,) it is more likely a political game to turn SL further into a Buddhist fascist state (one the lines of BJP India or Burma.)

I do not believe the fearful Muslim minority of SL would willfully commit political and religion suicide while under attack by Buddhist monks and their mobs.

That too by attacking a Christian church instead of the Buddhist terrorist monks.

Right now SL govt (and intelligence partners) are right to censure identities etc, and see if any networks/chatter are still active. This is standard operating procedure.
