What's new

34 years ago today: Tiananmen Square massacre in Beijing

Or worse likely end up in civil war.
The central government may lose lots of power to the local provincial governments thus lead to some provinces seeking breakup from the central government like what happened right after the collapse of Qing dynasty 100 years ago.

Tiananmen incident happened in 1989 and Russia "revolution" happened in 1990, back then Soviet Union was worlds ahead of China in all aspects, and check out where the two countries are now 34 years after the "revolution".
Or worse likely end up in civil war.
There was no good end for all color revolutions. No even one case.

There was no good end for all color revolutions. No even one case.
The west promised heavens to Russians when instigating Russia's 1990 color pro west "revolution", what they actually delivered to Russia?

Taiwan's People's Party candidate Ke Wenzhe, who is said to have an IQ of 135, said,

There will be problems if the gap between democratic politics and economic development is too large
I agree with his words

In many so-called democracies, democracy is actually kleptocracy

India's Modi government

Treat the Indian state itself as a cash machine for private companies

Continued introduction of political rules in favor of Adani

Turn Modi's fellow countryman, a business gang thief into the richest man in India

This seriously undermines the fundamental principle of economic development, equal opportunity

This breeds crony capitalist corrupt politics

don't understand what you are saying. How does a massacre in Tianenmen Square lead to economic growth?
The restore of law and order of the country put China on a fast development track. China's real development take off started from that point.

A "successful" color revolution and what it brings to an once proud and powerful nation.

What 89 Tiananmen incident did to China is it change the political atmosphere in China.

After Tiananmen, there are alot less political movement/activities in China.

The Chinese people truly say goodbye to the political struggle era that start with the Cultural revolution.

From then on, the central theme for Chinese is political stability and economic development.

Instead of the constant jostling for political power to gain from the gov't hence collective coffer, the Chinese spend all their energy and time on generating value and wealth.

Instead of fighting for share of the cake, we make the cake bigger.

The hundreds of million of Chinese peasant in the country side support the cities industry to compete internationally.

Today, it is payback time. That's why, nobody in China would complain about spending trillion of gov't fund in poverty alleviation for the country side.

The "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" maybe too ideological in a farm collective, but it could be done at least in spirit on longer term.

China is after all, a unitary state from more than two thousand years ago. Working as a team just comes naturally.

64 has long been a lost cause. Live with it and Move on.

There is another thing that shape China today.

Consensus on the event say that the students as Not anti-China or unpatriotic at the Beginning, but hijacked by many anti-social and anti-China element foreign and domestic to become anti-social or even color-revolution tool.

When protest get too long and too big, then the nature of these political protest would become political impasse and impossible to be handled by peaceful means.

Only by actively controlling it right at the start would avoid the tragedy that benefit no one but China enemy.

Political stability therefore become a top administrative priority in China.

The best is obviously not to have political protest in the first place.

And how to archieve that would be an arts in governance.

Suffice to say that China gov't is working hard to deliver rising living standard and equility to the people and so far the popularity poll result are good.

Who's behind it is unmistakenly shown by the symbol of that movement
