30 Year-Old Soviet Missile Defense Destroys 70% of Trump’s ‘Nice, New, Smart!’ Missiles

The controversial American/English/French coalitions missile strikes in Syria last night have resulted in minimal damage to the Syrian army, as ZeroHedge overviews.

According to Russian and Syrian media, Out of the 103 Tomahawk Missiles utilized by coalition forces against the Syrian army targets, 71 were successfully deflected by the Syrian army using outdated 30 year old Soviet era anti aircraft systems.

They're calling him 'Neocon Don'

The state media reported that three Syrians were injured by the strikes, with no military personnel killed. The Dumeir military airfield, one of the coalition targets, emerged completely unharmed.

It seems this entire attack appears to have been a hollow show of force as the Syrians have emerged unscathed.

There has been no chemical leak since the attack. Either all their missiles missed the target, or there was no chemical weapon to begin with. Either way, the attack was a failure for the most powerful military alliance in the world. Shame on U.F.U.

I suppose this attack has several goals:
1) Message for Putin on the eve of his inauguration and on the eve of Victory Day over Nazism, which is one of the main holidays in Russia.
2) Message for Assad to stop fighting against Western-backed terrorists, on wich training West have spent billions.
3) The main tactical target - to destroy evidences before specialists come to investigate fake chemical attack (the reason for agression). It is so obviously - they made this attack only some hours before specialists came to Damascus.
West have about 0 success in attacks on military bases, but was quite succesive in destroying scientific lab.

We have seen the limits of the "most powerful military alliance" in Afghanistan and Iraq. This was a probing attack to see the response of the defenses and response of the enemy. A lot of data will be collected , the plans recalibrated and a new round of attacks will be launched. It's purpose is to re-balance the military advantage of Assad's forces so that the Syrians can carry on killing each other at a controlled rate and to their ultimate demise. The art of fighting without fighting - the modern way of fighting.

look like the stealth cruise missile are real deal ... if SCM(stealth cruise missile) are fired at high number , even most advance Air Defence System will have problem to detect them ....

I am sorry but this is true for cheerleaders of Assad (and Russians).

Once again, where is the proof of such outlandish claims? If cruise missiles are that easy to shoot down then why Pakistan wasting its resources with them?

I tell you something; Assad (and Russians) haven't managed to shoot down even Grad rockets of rebels across the battlefield.

Insider sources also claim that Assad (and Russians) are concealing lot of damage.

Dislike the US as much you want but don't play second fiddle to baseless propaganda of its opponents.

I admit - you are a decent Russian and can be reasoned with. However, keep in mind that Assad (and Russians) have withheld lot of information from the public because these strikes eroded the myth of their supposedly impregnable defenses.

What limits?

They soundly defeated Iraq in both wars (1991; 2003) whereas Iran couldn't defeat Iraq in a war that lasted 8 straight years (1980 - 1988).

They played a major role in defeating ISIS across the Middle East in recent years (2014 - 2017) - an operation in which 100% precision munition was employed for the first time in the history of mankind; each ISIS stronghold fell to US-led forces on the ground.

They are using Afghanistan as testing ground for new weapons and battlefield doctrines unfortunately. Taliban has proposed talks to them but US isn't paying heed.

By the way, what we saw in Iraq is a mere trailer of their firepower. A single Ohio-class submarine can erase an entire country from existence with its strategic suit.
