What's new

3 police officials martyred in KPK including a DSP by TTP using snipers and thermal night vision sights.

Locally produced by shibli optics I guess
Shibly don't make rifle scopes anymore just handheld Thermals

He was a #1 advocate for everything I wrote. He was very passionate about those opinions so I'm not going to pin all that onto GHQ alone
There is what IK said! BUT ultimately the deciding factor was always GHQ. The decisions that led to 50k+ killed or maimed during the war on terror was due to a decision by GHQ!

faiz hameed was dealing with taliban! then from there things go titts up. its GHQ's led mission that went pear-shaped.

Followed, tracked, and ambushed. Gone are the days when we used to hear that "police walay to urrti chirrya k per gin letay hain". Special Branch and FIA seems to be sleeping instead of keeping an eye in 5km radius of the police station. Public also doesn't warn about strangers showing or strange activity brewing up in their vicinity. If public isn't complicit then what is it.

PTI is in power in kpk for last 10 years.

After ctd bannu laki marwat and now this and similar incidents..
Where did khan fell short?

Youthiya explanation ๐Ÿ’€

Imran Khan was very passionate about it while the GHQ stood against it, the GHQ are incompetent, corrupt, western slaves, but you need to learn to take some criticism of your messiah

He fell short from the moment he was a terrorist sympathiser (news flash: he always was)

Lol there are still some people who will say army saazzish, PDM saazish

It's a perfect excuse they've created recently to off-load the faults onto a well-known corrupt area, just to avoid accountability of their personal favourites

resorting to insults and all the harami things PDM+GHQ has shown the nation in the span of 10 months. The haramzadghi goes beyond IK and the Pharaohs in GHQ only need to read my new signature.

Youthiya is the equivalent of Patwari, but I apologise if you took as it an insult.

I don't support PDM/GHQ blindly but you have to accept truthful criticism of Mr. Khan. He was very enthusiastic with resettling terrorists, negotiating with them, wanting to open political offices, and even opposed the fence that keeps them away!

Foot soldiers are always disposables for Pakistani establishment/Army, they will condemn the attack call them shaheed etc and than we wait until the cycle repeats.

We don't know how many Afghans are living there with either fake or purchased passports. KPK and FATA needs a full sweep to identify Afghans. These are the people involved in the network.

Whole Pakistan needs a full sweep to expell all the afghans from it's lands. It's not just about KP or FATA. But that's not what @hussain0216 said in his post. You see, this is the problem with public forums. Person A says something retard, person B respond in that context, person C take Person B's response without context and give his own take totally getting person B wrong.

Person B then keep explaining himself.

Incident happened in Peshawar. Do you really want to say that even in cities of KP like Peshawar, there are people that support TTP and are complicit in the terro attacks ? I mean the people of same Peshawar city whose only 1 400 meter street (Qisa khwani bazar) faced 23 suicide attacks.???

Then I think Pakistan is doomed if you are right. We should just go back to the concept of small princely states and dissolve Pakistan as a nation.
It's probably time for KP people to surround the GHQ, Parliament and KP assembly and do some patharbazi on the crooks sitting inside.

Until they are not taught some hard lesson, these crooks will never care about their people.

Enough of this TTP 's topi drama
They are not serious about dealing with it.They don't care about the lives of soldiers and the economic instability of people due to the fear of terrorism.

Police officer among 3 martyred in late-night attack on police station in Peshawar

Tahir Khan
January 14, 2023

A senior police officer and two of his guards lost their lives giving chase to militants who staged a late-night attack on a police station on the outskirts of Peshawar, a senior official said on Saturday.

Senior Superintendent Police Operations Peshawar Kashif Abbasi told Dawn.com that Deputy Superintendent Police Sardar Hussain and his two police guards lost their lives in an exchange fire with terrorists in the Badhabir area.

The two martyred policemen were identified as Irshad and Jehanzeb.

Abbasi told reporters that the terrorists attacked Sarband police station at about midnight. Sarband is located near the Bara area of Khyber tribal district.

โ€œIt was coordinated from multiple directions and the [terrorists] used multiple weapons. They lobbed hand grenades and resorted to sniper shots and automatic guns,โ€ he said.

The Peshawar police successfully repelled the attack, he added.

Abbasi said the slain police officer chased the fleeing terrorists and tried to encircle them but during an ensuing exchange of fire, he and two other policemen lost their lives.

The gunmen then took advantage of the darkness and fled.

Police said a search operation was launched in Sarband and nearby areas following the attack. It resumed on Saturday morning. No arrest was made so far.

Abbasi said the gunmen had come from the Khyber Tribal district bordering Afghanistan.

A funeral was held for the martyred police officials at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Line in Peshawar on Saturday morning.
It was attended by senior police and military officials while the police force offered a salute to the martyrs.

Meanwhile, the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed the attack.

TTP has stepped up attacks since the group called off the ceasefire in November which was agreed with the government in June and ordered its militants to stage attacks across the country.

Federal govt concerned

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the federal government was โ€œseriously concernedโ€ over the โ€œworsening law and order situationโ€ in KP.

Highlighting โ€œterrorists are attacking police stations [and] policemen and officers are being targetedโ€, he criticised the KP government for โ€œnot learning a lessonโ€ from the attack at a Counter Terrorism Department centre in Bannu last month where law enforcers were held hostage by militants.

Sanaullah lambasted KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan saying: โ€œAll energies of the chief minister are focused on dissolving the assembly.โ€

He asked, โ€œThe KP police are not safe from terrorist attacks; what will be the [state of] peopleโ€™s protection?โ€ The minister paid tribute to the martyred police officials and saluted their sacrifices.

KP police getting upgrades

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari commended the police for repulsing the terrorist attack with โ€œgreat braveryโ€ and asserted โ€œwe all are together in this battleโ€.

Talking to the media in Peshawar today, he highlighted that this was the first time the police had used thermal weapon sights in Peshawar โ€” a sighting device that helps locate and see targets from afar.

Ansari said, โ€œWe did not have a way to see the terrorists [in obscure conditions].โ€

He said the provincial government has released funds for the provision of thermal weapon sights, adding that 40 have already been received โ€” half of which have been sent to Dera Ismail Khan and the rest to Bannu.

โ€œThermal [weapon] sights are mounted on top of weapons. Thermal guns enable [us] to see [clearly] from afar.โ€
Ansari also said there was โ€œgreat progress on Safe Citiesโ€ project. โ€œWe have signed an agreement for Safe Cities [project]. Phase one would be completed by June this year.โ€

He further added that security cameras have been installed at the police stations on their own initiative.
Tactic used by TTP in this attack:

This is a well fortified police station. The targets had to be lured outside. Hence, the terrorists initially used grenades and provoked the police personnel to pursue them. Unaware of the snipers waiting for them, they exposed themselves in an open area where the snipers could take clear shots using thermal scopes.

Pakistan needs a list of American weapon/ammo storage areas and to either buy them back, capture them, or destroy them.

The former Afghan Army, who has been absorbed by the Taliban, had a larger budget than the Pakistan Army. That means the TTP potentially has a larger or near equal budget than the Pakistan Army at least in FATA/KP.

Unrealistic and impossible. Why do so people on this forum have any clue how such ops actually work?

Small arms are, for a lack of a better word, largely decentralized. They're spread across markets, smuggling networks, footsoldiers, private owners, etc. The TTP are not going to a massive Afghan Taliban warehouse to get their M4s with thermal sights.

Meanwhile Niazi is settling TTP in KP while sitting in Lahore.

Yes yes, the Army had nothing to do with strategic depth and ensuring that the Afghan Taliban, the ideological twins of the TTP, come into power in Afghanistan.

And yes yes, the Army has definitely deterred terrorism by destroying their sanctuaries and raising costs for their backers.

(In case you're mentally challenged, I'm being sarcastic.)

Superior gear. Night. Element of surprise.

Tactical nightmare for the police. I was speaking to a family member who has worked with this officer for years in KP. An exceptional man. Lost to bad policies over the past decades.

It's probably time for KP people to surround the GHQ, Parliament and KP assembly and do some patharbazi on the crooks sitting inside.

They are not serious about dealing with it.They don't care about the lives of soldiers and the economic instability of people due to the fear of terrorism.

Precisely. Power only understands power.

In other words, only introducing tangible consequences and raising the cost in direct, immediate ways can encourage some change.

Whole Pakistan needs a full sweep to expell all the afghans from it's lands. It's not just about KP or FATA. But that's not what @hussain0216 said in his post. Person B then keep explaining himself.

This is what happens when your actual "strategists" in power aren't working for the country's long-term interests.

All sorts of retarded nonsense is then shared on forums by frustrated idiots. The few good ideas get buried.

You can judge the state of affairs by contemplating that MANY are still broadly satisfied with the Establishment. It's mind-boggling.

Unless the Establishment is leashed by an earnest political setup; terrorism will stay, besides economic turmoil.

again, ALL the decisions making vis a vis for security is done by GHQ. Now GHQ haramzadghi is out in the open. its been exposed, BADLY.

So its only natural to resort to insults like noon leagues do and you being a PDM+GHQ tout have done.
