BENAPOLE: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel held three Indian nationals, including a customs officer, from Benapole bazaar on Monday on allegation of illegal intrusion into Bangladesh land.

The detainees are India’s Petrapole check post customs officer Balai Lal Pal, his son Tonmoy Pal and Satyajit Myti, son of Ajit Kumar Myti of Medinipur in Kolkata.

BGB Benapole camp commander Sher-e-Alam told banglanews, “Three Indian nationals, including a customs officer, entered into Benapole bazaar crossing Benapole check post border at around 11am. Locals informed BGB men noticing their suspicious roaming in the area. BGB troops rushed in and held them.”

“The detainees are now in BGB custody,” he added.
