Kulgam:
A 16-year-old boy, who had joined militant ranks two month back, returned to his family after the pleas from his parents.
According to police, Naseer Ahmed who had joined Hizbul Mujahideen in September, has returned.
"He has neither surrendered nor apprehended. Naseer contacted his family and wished to come back. He is with us and family is in touch with him,” IGP Muneer Khan to a local news gathering agency, CNS.
Police said Naseer hails from a far off Chimmer village in Damhal Hanjipora area of Kulgam district.
He had gone missing in September and joined the militant ranks on September 27.
A police official said the militant surrendered today before the police following an appeal by his parents.
“On my visit to Kulgam, I was told another local militant has come back home in response to appeal of his mother and other family members. Great news,” DGP, S P Vaid said.
