What's new

27th February Was Only Half the Surprise Revealed !!!

This statement of yours has answered all the critics as to why we did not go gung ho and bring down all the 9 fighters.
The questions one really needs to ask oneself is.
A. Are we in a position to have a full fledged war with India?
B. So what was the aim ofhaving this whole exercise? Was it to down IAF inventory or tech demonstration?
We have seriously underestimated the demoralizing effect of not knowing how the situation turned out so drastically bad for IAF? A fear of the unknown is a prime force in developing uncertainty while not provoking enough for the opposition to throw all caution to the wind and let loose with all it has at its disposal.
So I ask all the critics again what was more important, starting a full fledged war with no winners and a 100 million people dead on both sides if not more; or giving tge enemy just a taster of what it shohld expect if it ventures into our terrain again. I strongly suspect the other fighters which were logged were still in Indian air space and as such in peace times the act of taking them out would have been tentamount to an aggression which would have forced a response. The response would have been missile strikes and unless and until you were willing to throw40 to 50 Nukes across the border to totally anihilate India theassured outcome would have been significant damage to your country and in fact possibly no country left worth mentioning .
40 to 50 nukes thrownacross India will unleash havoc the consequences would have envelopedyou China and at least half the world with loss of a couple of billion lives plus. You wouldthen have invited a free for all with all the big boys jumping in and the endgame being played out in the subcontinent.
People need to play put scenarios before opening their mouths/typing their thoughts.
No disrespect intended to anyone.

Can you imagine the ungrateful thoughts of few merely because of their personal issues downgrading, demeaning and devaluing such an achievement that every professional out there been appraising Pakistan approach and skills on that day. It's however unfortunate to see that we aren't able to play psych war and need of hour as such which has more affect than a conventional punch. Furthermore, we need something to downplay and create some fault lines due to limitations of our brains while getting into disgraceful exercise to the whole Nation. Ultimately, it's like I am master of all while others are nothing. Interestingly, we are still bearing with mouths that disrespects Pakistanis on this forum by calling then cowards and yet, few complains that there is no freedom of speech. Even though, freedom of speech doesn't mean such disgraceful remarks but on other hand, we can't help one for his/her issues. A sad state of affairs by few and disappointing show of intellect, though.

The biggest surprise was to not shoot their jets we had a lock on.
They will never be able to figure that one out.

And some times we need to accept our flawed execution instead of dancing over it all the time.
Not only creating a question mark on our own claims, but to allow them to regroup and figure out the gaps and fill them and come prepared the next time around.

It's not about escalation (even I was in favor of not escalating initially) but it's about using your advantage while you can to its fullest. Did we?

What's the point of dominating the air for one day when it's going to help with nothing in a war in the future?
There are strategists, and then there are day battle winners.
Should we focus on conquering one peak and losing the whole war?

We jammed their Mirage 2000's? Good, next time they will carry stuff that won't allow us.
We evaded lock on? Next time they will come armed with stuff that not only locks us but is able to shoot us from a greater distance than we can.

How dare you question the PAF?!

Seriously though, if our country had balls......

Listening to this is better instead of thinking over what could've been...
Many generations have thought over what if and perished in our land, it might take a few more for our halaat to not be in some kind of emergency...

Pakistan has always been at the mercy of ridiculous extremes that choke out any form of real discussion on transforming ourselves:
On this forum, those extremes seem to be those that just hate the Fauj and blame it for all the country's ills and the fanboys who can't understand the concept of constructive criticism.

It is only through challenging the current state of affairs that we can become the kind of nation that wouldn't be hesitating over the slightest of escalations. If you have a lock, take the f***ing shot.

(cue the "mature" analysts on this forum with their lectures on 'you don't know what's better - let the Air Chief decide that' and 'you have to understand our economy before making such hasty emotional decisions.'
what they don't understand is that this shitty attitude would have kept us from becoming a nuclear power as well.)

They had missiles being prepped up to rain down on them anyway.
Posturing for an offensive caught the enemy off guard. Having hit a few buttons would've helped to push them to not even think about a war, with the PAF being overly aggressive.
They would think ten times to take aggressive actions like Kashmir.
How many women got rapped for this cowardliness disguised as "masleehat" as always.

This masleehat never ends, nor does the nazuq morr se guzarta mulq.

Allow me to hit you with a classic line:

"Do not mistake our restraint for weakness."

Talk is cheap.

Windy, If as senior as a AVM was flying with the mission. Can we say that vital decision making was also being done dynamically while assessing the situation at that very moment? I think this was the case else no need for such a senior person to be airborne. Secondly, It also points out that PAF was ready for multiple outcomes depending on the reaction of other side so a senior and sound brain was there to accurately judge the situation at hand and pass orders accordingly. This is all my guess work. I, fortunately or unfortunately, have no link to armed forces, so can you ask from your source please. And if that was the case, then i think some of the men flying that day were filling him in with their respective situational awareness. Question remains, why he had to flew in F-16 instead of in an AWACS?

@Windjammer

And how exactly it has costed us kashmir?
I think the enemy changed the official status of Kashmir with a nod or the acquiescence of the super power, and not because of 2/26-27. They are being courted day and night with trade and military deals to make them a counterweight to China. They couldn't ask for a better time to get away with forcibly changing the status of Kashmir. Further more , the enemy emulated their middle eastern role model. They fancy themselves as the Israelis of subcontinent, and think of us as Palestinias, thus the attack on 2/26.
Kashmirs' fate will be determined largly by the internal dynamics in Kashmir with external pressure or lack of it.

You are right...however you should know they are planning to make demographic changes..If Pakistan lose the trust of Kashmiris here it will be over before you even know..

Top stop any demographic changes or any other plans like that Kashmiris would have to take the fight. We can always join them

But in current situation where Kashmiris are sitting in their homes, we just can't go and invade IOK

It is very simple logic

The status of Kashmir was changed because the previous Indian governments were very conscious of Indian picture abroad.

They kept the status to play victim. The mouthpieces like Muftis to show that India is innocent and everything is Pakistan's fault.

This one thinks otherwise.

the present situation and India's move on 5 August 2019 suits Pakistan

there is no ambiguity now. It is now India vs Kashmir plus Pakistan and not Kashmir pus India vs Pakistan as Muftis or Abdullahs used to portray

Agreed, but if he violates enough red lines established by the current world order stake holders, then he (Hindu nazis) will be cut down to size with the full might of the west and others. Time will tell wherever it pans out this way.
