Came across this report in Dawn about money being approved for road infrastructure, sneaked in there was this funding for sattelite technology.

Ecnec okays Rs190bn road infrastructure projects

Approves Suparco's PRSS-02 project that will help in building an indigenous capacity in fields of space/satellite technology.

My numbers might be wrong, but thats something like $160 million. That's quite a lot of money if spent properly.

I once did a back of envelop calculation. Presume that we use Ghauri missiles as the basis of a SLV (most likely). And use Hatf motors as stap on boosters.
They have already been paid for and the work done really means about 20 million USD per launch. Thats 8 launches.

It is for optical remote sensing satellite manufacturing
Not for satellite launch vehicle i guess
